Hello,
My name is Sam,
And welcome to this New Beginnings guided meditation.
Now New Beginnings are not just for the New Year,
But can happen after any major life event or change,
Or simply happens every morning at dawn.
Sometimes these New Beginnings can feel quite shocking or jarring,
In that the new,
Despite being good and welcome,
Is different and uncomfortable.
The New Year,
Though,
Does offer time for introspection and reflection.
It's a great time to create new dreams,
Set intentions for the future,
Whilst waving goodbye to that which is done,
Or no longer serves us.
We're on the threshold between the old and the new,
And ready to begin.
So get yourself comfortable and ready to start.
Take a full breath in,
And relax your body fully.
As you do so,
I would like to offer you these affirmations to plant the seeds of intent for this meditation.
I embrace change.
I welcome the new.
It's never too late to begin again.
I am open to new possibilities.
Think about the weeks and months just gone,
A lot happened that was to be thankful for.
Review in your memory some of the good times in the last year,
And remember the blessings.
Feel thankful for all that your life has brought you this year,
And how it's shaped you into who you are today.
You've grown as a person,
And you're smarter and wiser.
You know yourself better too,
And understand more about who you are,
And what you want.
It's time to let go of the past now,
And release it with love.
Breathe in deeply,
And when you let your breath out,
Just blow those things away.
You're now ready for the new,
And myriad of exciting opportunities and experiences that await you.
And so,
Turn to face forward,
Step across the threshold,
And leave the past behind you.
What lies beyond this point?
That's entirely up to you.
You create your future,
And the first step in doing that is to set an overarching intention.
This could be something like,
I intend to live my life to the fullest,
Or I intend to treat myself with the care and respect that I deserve.
Take a few moments to find your perfect ending to that intention starter.
I intend to… Very good.
Remember this intention,
So that it can become your daily mantra,
And help drive you towards your goals and dreams.
The second part to intentions is the really fun part of visualizing specific things you wish to do or achieve.
So start to imagine all the wonderful things you'd like to do this coming year.
Maybe you want to get better at something you enjoy doing,
Or perhaps learn a new skill.
Maybe there's somewhere you've always wanted to visit,
Or a new job that you have your eye on.
Let your imagination and desires run free.
There is no limit to what you can achieve,
So dare to dream big.
In your mind,
Anything is possible.
Allow yourself to lift those desires vividly in your mind's eye,
Seeing everything in glorious detail.
The colors,
Sights,
Smells,
Feelings.
Feel the feelings of achieving your dreams.
Let your heart sing and your skin goose bump.
Feel the butterflies of anticipation,
The hope filling your heart.
Picture yourself as having succeeded,
And hold on tightly to that image in your mind and heart.
Now,
Come back to the here and now,
And take in a deep breath and imagine yourself at the end of the year having accomplished all these wonderful things you've been thinking about.
Doesn't it feel wonderful?
Allow all that joy,
Happiness,
Anticipation and satisfaction to fill up your entire body,
Going into each and every cell,
From the crown of your head down to your big toes,
And hold on to that feeling for as long as you can.
When you're ready,
You can open your eyes and take a full belly breath in and give your body a big stretch.
Get ready,
Because it's time to live your dream.
I hope you enjoy this meditation and I wish you all the best.
