Welcome to New Beginnings with Sammy Aaron.
This recording will guide you to release fear and energy blocks surrounding the planning stage of taking a new direction in your life.
Sometimes when we want to branch out or step away from our everyday lives,
There can be fear,
A sense of who am I to be doing this,
A worry that our family and friends may not be supportive or understanding.
As we begin the meditation,
Find a comfortable,
Quiet place to sit,
And as you do,
Take a moment to notice everything around you,
Gathering in a sense of where you are,
And then gently close your eyes.
Settle into the heaviness of your body.
Notice the weight of your hips and thighs and knees.
Feel a deep grounding and release of tension from the waist to the toes.
Let your low body soften and relax as if tendrils of gravity are gently drawing any tightness down into the earth.
With your next inhalation,
Imagine you could breathe into your legs and hips,
And with your exhalation,
Let go of any remaining tension.
Bring your awareness to the small of the back.
Feel the spine long and extended,
And with your next inhalation,
Feel that you could breathe bubbles of air into the space between each vertebra.
The crown of the head reaches to the heavens,
And as you exhale,
Let go of any remaining tension.
And as you exhale,
You settle into a posture of ease and balance.
Bring your awareness to the low belly and soften all the muscles around the navel and the waist.
The entire soft belly releases as you allow the breath to move gently in and out.
Soften through the rib cage,
The armpits,
The breasts,
The heart.
Feel the breath flow evenly and smoothly through the lungs and the chest.
Bring your awareness into your shoulders,
Arms,
And hands.
Let tension flow down from the neck through the shoulders,
Past the arms,
And out through the fingers.
Feel your shoulders and arms completely at ease.
Bring your awareness into your face,
Your forehead and skull.
Soften through the back of the eyes and the optic nerve,
Through the temples and the back of the neck.
Feel the coolness of the breath drawn in through your nostrils,
And follow it through your sinuses and into the throat.
Notice the warmth and release of a deep exhalation.
Begin to set your intention for today's meditation,
Focusing on some new,
Fresh aspect to your life,
A new path that you're on,
Perhaps a different way of thinking.
You might be moving into a change in relationships,
Employment,
Living arrangements.
Let your mind formulate all the issues surrounding this change,
And notice any emotions,
Fears,
Regrets,
Or concerns that come to mind.
Ask yourself,
What is calling for softness and attention,
Release and connection surrounding this new path in your life?
Ask yourself,
How does this change feel emotionally as well as physically?
Notice if there's anywhere within your body that feels tight or constricted as you think about this new aspect to your life.
Make a mental note of any area that holds the emotions of this new pathway as a feeling of heaviness or coldness or blockage.
And then soften all the intellectual activity around this new focus in your life.
Take a full inhalation and a full exhalation.
Let your awareness move into some place in nature that resonates with you,
A forested area that feels spacious,
Earthy,
Fresh,
And lush,
A place where you feel safe and completely at ease.
Let your inner gaze open to whatever you might notice in this space and breathe it all in.
Imagine that you're seated comfortably here in a clearing facing towards the woods,
And you soften your gaze to drink in the image of the trees in front of you.
Your sense of sight expands to receive all the colors and shading and shadows around you.
You notice the movement of the birds and the leaves and the swaying of the clouds on the breeze.
With your next exhalation,
Imagine that your whole being could just drop into this place,
Letting your body and breath settle into a deeper and quieter space.
You become aware of your sense of touch and imagine that the pores of your skin could absorb everything you see,
As if you could draw in shades of green and brown and gold,
And you could soak in the blossoms and the water and the sky.
Through your nostrils,
You could inhale the breath of the wind and the warmth of the sun,
Or the coolness of the shade and halo of the moonlight.
Your sense of hearing hangs on intricately to all the sounds around you,
From as far away as the horizon,
The call of birds,
The rush of the wind,
And the trickle of water.
You open your mouth just slightly and drink in the taste and texture of everything around you.
All of your senses are alive and receptive,
As if you were this place in nature.
Bring your awareness now to your physical body,
Starting at the crown of your head.
Let your awareness run through a full-body scan,
Noticing any place that draws your attention,
Especially in the areas where you noticed constriction or blockage when you thought earlier about this new direction in your life.
Tapping into your energy body,
The place where our emotions and our grief settle,
Notice where you feel any gentle movement,
Perhaps a pulling or stretching sensation,
And keeping your awareness of this place in your body,
Notice the details of this sensation.
Is there a shape or a texture or a temperature to it?
Could you breathe into this space in your body and let go of any gripping around this area?
In your visualization,
Your eyes are open.
Bring your awareness back to the forest around you.
Your senses are still ungated and open.
You find that you are aware of everything around you,
And at the same time are responsive to all the sensations and energetic movement within you.
In your visualization,
Directly in front of you at the edge of the woods,
You notice a small tree,
A sapling.
As you gaze at this tree,
It seems to stand out from all the other trees around you.
You have the sensation that the sun is shining on this tree,
Lighting it up from behind and from within.
You notice the strength and sturdiness of its slim trunk.
You visualize the stability of its roots spreading broadly through the earth.
You draw your awareness from the roots and the earth up the trunk to the lowest branches of the tree.
Your breath draws in the softness of the olive-colored leaves.
You notice an abundance of branches spreading out from the trunk,
Branches that are lush with leaves.
It's as if each branch is spreading wide its wings,
Opening its leaves out to the sunlight,
To the insects,
To the birds.
And as the sunlight hits them,
You feel a deep,
Heavy,
Resonant green.
You get a sense of strength and groundedness in the weight of these branches.
You begin to be aware that what attracts you about this tree is reflected within your own life.
You feel a sensation of your own roots reaching deep into the earth,
Searching for your own stability and strength,
Noticing how you will find your footing as you move into your new pathway in life.
You have a sensation of standing tall,
Your spine drawing up from your roots and reaching into your upper back and arms,
Your own branches represented in family,
Friends,
Loved ones,
Your memories,
Experiences,
Education,
Intelligence,
Your background,
And history,
Your goals and dreams and heartfelt desires right here,
As if they were each leaf on the branches of your trunk.
You notice the sensation of interconnectedness,
Support,
Interweaving.
All of your background is uplifting you and who you are and where you've come from.
Your gaze lifts to the upper branches of the tree,
And you notice two brand new shoots stretching up and away from the mass of branches and leaves below.
You notice the translucence of their leaves as the sun shines through.
They are without the protective core of the heavy leaves and branches from beneath,
And yet there they are,
Straight and strong and reaching to the sky.
You feel the metaphor in your life,
Something new and different,
Feeling that you too are taking a chance as you branch off and shift away from your past.
You notice the sense of vulnerability in these new branches.
They are unsheltered from changes in the weather,
In the same way that you may not have the cushion of support in your new endeavor that you have in other areas of your life.
Yet you're aware that these shoots could never have pushed up and out as they did and that the underlying support and nurturing that was beneath them,
Feeling ready for something new,
They gathered all that energy and drive to push up out of the pack and lift up into the sunlight.
And you realize that you are these branches and leaves,
And that your own experience and support system has brought you to this place where you're now ready to spread your wings in whatever direction calls to your heart.
You notice a sense of deep connection to this tree,
Its story,
Its history.
You feel that you embody the tree and in some way are embodied by the tree and to all of the nature surrounding it.
The more deeply you feel connected to this tree,
The stronger the metaphors,
And the more you want to find an even deeper resonance with the tree.
By visualizing an awareness coming from the tree,
That you could ask nature to help you move deeper into that sense of embodiment and connection.
There is an intuitive knowing that you are no different from the tree.
And when you ask from your heart,
Can I be drawn from my heart into your essence,
You immediately are awash in an overwhelming sense of welcoming as if you're already home,
As if there's an invitation to drop into nature,
And you give yourself into the invitation.
You step over the threshold into your true nature,
Into communication and communion with your natural essence.
This is who you are.
This is where you come from.
You are nature.
You've just forgotten it amongst the branches and leaves and busyness of your everyday life.
You feel the strength of the earth flowing through sap,
Enlivening your leaves and blossoms and fruits.
You have an ancient memory of living through all seasons and all weather,
Through the subtle changes of each of the 24 hours as the sun travels across each day.
Everything this tree will embody,
So will you.
You begin to feel the movement of all these sensations through your physical body.
You bring your attention back to that place that felt dark or heavy or cold.
You notice now the movement and shifting of stagnation,
Blockage and pain.
And through your newly rediscovered connection with nature,
You ask for release of your fears,
Your grief,
And your anxiety over the new path in your life.
You begin to breathe into the areas of the body where you notice the sensation.
It may feel like a pulling or tingling.
You may need to move or wiggle or shiver to release this energy.
You may notice tears.
Allowing this movement to come naturally,
You open to its release.
With each in-breath,
Visualize that you draw in the essence of the tree and all the nature surrounding it.
With each out-breath,
Visualize that you release the negativity back to nature,
Back to the infinite power and strength of the earth,
Sending your fears and limiting beliefs down through gravity into the roots,
The rocks,
And the soil around you.
As you feel this process of energy release,
You may notice tingling through your spine or openness in your throat.
You let yourself soften into whatever sensations arise.
You melt into the flow of healing,
Surrender,
And release.
You begin to feel a cleansing,
A lightness,
A buoyancy floating up within your body.
Your breath is open and your face is soft.
A gentle smile flickers at your lips.
In your visualization,
Your eyes again come to rest on the two new branches at the top of the tree,
And you embody the sensations once more that you are the new branches and their leaves.
You absorb the sunshine and flutter on the wind as you invite your body to embrace the feeling,
The sensations of nature.
And then you ask yourself,
What's next?
Now that your limiting belief has been lifted,
There's an energy and space for creative and different thoughts about your new pathway in life.
You set an intention to remember how it feels at this moment,
Setting an awareness that for every limiting belief that arises within you,
You have the ability to move through just as you've done in this meditation.
Savoring the sensations that you're feeling at this moment,
You begin to come back into your physical body now.
You become aware of your flesh and bones,
Of the weight of your hips and legs.
You notice the strength of your spine and torso.
You let the breath deepen as you awaken your mind,
And with each exhalation,
You again feel the connection to the earth beneath you.
You notice the openness you now have through the crown of your head,
A sensation that you are a part of everything around you.
You feel the presence of your body within a sigh of gratitude for this meditation and for the healing power of the natural world.
You feel the presence of your body within a sigh of gratitude for this meditation and for the healing power of the natural world.
May you embody this feeling of deep gentleness and the awareness of your inherent connection to nature,
And may you share its essence with everyone you meet.
