Hi,
My name is Sam Sesiman and I'm a mental health counselor.
I created this meditation based on my own needs.
I have a health condition and there have been some new symptoms lately that are causing both discomfort and fear.
And so I started looking for affirmations that not only were comforting but also felt genuine and so I put together some of these affirmations and a meditation that were able to bring me some peace and some soothing and I wanted to share it with you.
So if you'd like to join me I'd invite you to get as comfy as your body will allow today and maybe that means laying down in bed or staying right where you are.
Maybe being on a comfy couch.
And as you settle into your space maybe you relax your shoulders away from your ears and you might try to relax your jaw,
Your forehead,
Your eyelids and then take a deep breath in through your nose and exhale through your mouth.
And repeat slow breath in,
Slow breath out and one more time.
Deep breath in and let all the air go.
And again relax in your body as much as you can in this moment.
And as we begin this meditation together as you start to listen to these affirmations just see if you can hold space for all of your emotions.
Can you notice fear or discomfort related to your body and also welcome gratitude,
Appreciation or hope.
I'll begin to speak these affirmations and you are welcome to just absorb them or repeat them back in your mind's eye or aloud,
Whatever feels best today.
Every muscle,
Bone,
Tendon and nerve in my body is functioning just as it was meant to today.
Every muscle,
Bone,
Tendon and nerve in my body feels appreciated and loved.
Every muscle,
Bone,
Tendon and nerve in my body is receiving support,
Energy and nutrients.
Every muscle,
Bone,
Tendon and nerve in my body is connected and communicating as they were meant to today.
Every cell in my body is functioning just as it was meant to today.
Every cell in my body feels appreciated and loved.
Every cell in my body is receiving support,
Energy and nutrients.
Every cell in my body is connected and communicating as they were meant to today.
Every part of my body from the top of my head down to the tips of my toes is functioning just as it was meant to today.
Every part of my body from the top of my head down to the tips of my toes feels appreciated and loved.
Every part of my body from the top of my head down to the tips of my toes is receiving support,
Energy and nutrients.
And every part of my body from the top of my head down to the tips of my toes are connected and communicating as they were meant to today.
And if there is a specific part of your body that needs your attention today,
Please concentrate on that area as you absorb the next set of affirmations.
What if this part of my body is functioning just as it was meant to today?
What if this part of my body feels appreciated and loved?
What if this part of my body is receiving support,
Energy and nutrients?
What if this part of my body is connected and communicating as it was meant to today?
This part of my body is functioning just as it was meant to today.
This part of my body feels my appreciation and love.
This part of my body is receiving support,
Energy and nutrients.
And this part of my body is connected and communicating just as it was meant to today.
And just noticing how these affirmations absorb into your system.
And with grace and acceptance,
Noticing any negative thoughts,
Fears or worries.
Those are part of the process.
And again,
Gently holding space for anything that felt negative,
But also making a little bit of room for that hope,
Appreciation and gratitude for what your body is doing today.
And if it feels good to you,
I'd invite you now to place a hand or hands on your heart or any area of your body that needs your attention.
And gently breathing gratitude,
Acceptance and appreciation into that area.
You might imagine as you breathe in that in that space in your body grows a white light.
And with every breath in,
It shines brighter and brighter.
And it radiates a warmth that can be felt through your whole body.
Breathing in gratitude,
Acceptance,
Appreciation.
Seeing the glow of that light.
And as we begin to end,
You could relax your hands down if they aren't already.
Take a long deep breath into your belly.
Open your mouth,
Let it all go.
And repeat.
And one more cleansing breath.
And you can stay here as long as you like.
Or you may want to wiggle your fingers or gently sway or slowly open your eyes back up to your space.
