Trust the courage to follow your own inner guidance.
Find a comfortable position,
Seated or laying down.
Let your body be heavy.
Let it be held.
And close your eyes gently.
Take a breath in through your nose.
And hold it softly at the top.
And then release slowly through the mouth.
Let's do it one more time.
Breathe in.
And let go.
Just release everything that does not belong to this moment.
Feel the ground beneath you.
Feel the weight of your body surrendering it.
You are safe here.
You are held here.
And nothing is required of you right now.
Just allow yourself the invitation to arrive.
In your mind's eye,
Imagine yourself standing in a wide,
Open space.
Perhaps a meadow.
Perhaps a forest clearing.
Somewhere that feels like yours.
The light is soft.
The air is still.
And you feel the earth firm and warm beneath your feet.
In this place,
We're going to call in the four directions.
And with each direction,
A dog arrives,
A guardian,
A guide.
Turning to face the east.
The direction of new beginnings,
Of sunrise,
Of trust taking its first breath.
A dog approaches from the east.
Steady and calm.
The tail is low and sure.
You feel its presence at your right side.
And welcome it.
Now,
Turn to the south,
The direction of warmth,
Of family,
Of the heart's fullness.
Another dog arrives,
Gentle,
Grounded,
Full of love.
It settles close behind you,
Warm and steady.
Welcome.
Then we turn to the west,
The direction of release,
Of wisdom earned through living,
Of letting go.
A third dog steps forward,
Older in energy,
Quiet,
Knowing.
It holds the space to your left.
Welcome.
And now we face to the north,
The direction of deep stillness,
Of ancestral wisdom,
Of all that has come before.
The final guardian arrives.
You feel it before you see it,
A familiar energy.
One that has been with you longer than you know.
It stands ahead of you,
Facing you.
Welcome.
You are held within a circle.
Four directions.
Four guardians.
The circle is complete.
The space is sacred.
Nothing that does not serve you can enter here.
Take a breath into the circle.
Feel it hold you.
From the center of the circle,
A movement catches your eye.
Flowing effortless,
A border collie steps into your space.
Black and white,
Bright-eyed,
A coat like the night sky meets snow.
Those eyes.
Have you ever been looked at so completely?
The border collie sits before you and simply looks at you.
Not with expectations.
Not with urgency.
Just with full,
Undivided presence.
I see you,
Those eyes say.
All of you.
And I am not going anywhere.
Let yourself receive that.
Let yourself be seen.
Feel any tightness in your chest.
Begin to soften.
Feel your shoulders drop.
You don't have to perform here.
You don't have to figure it out.
You just have to be here.
And you already are.
The border collie gently rests its head against your hand.
And you feel it.
A warmth that travels up your palm through your arms and settles in the center of your chest.
That warmth recognition.
That warmth is the feeling of knowing.
And just stay with that feeling in your chest.
The quiet warmth.
That is your inner guidance.
That is the voice that has always been there.
Before the research.
Before the opinions.
Before the doubt.
Let an image or memory rise gently to the surface.
A moment when you trusted yourself.
And it was right.
It doesn't have to be grand.
It can be small,
Ordinary.
Let it come without forcing.
Notice how that moment felt in your body.
Was there a quiet certainty?
A settling?
A sense of yes?
This?
That feeling is your compass.
It has always been your compass.
The border collie shifts beside you,
Nudging you gently.
A reminder.
You already know.
You have always known.
So now,
Let something arise gently in your life where you have been waiting for permission.
Where you have been looking outwards for the answer that lives within you.
Don't analyze it.
Don't solve it.
Just breathe it in.
And ask yourself quietly.
If I trusted myself completely in this.
What would I do?
What would I choose?
What would I release?
Whatever rises,
Rise.
Let whatever needs to be felt,
Be felt.
You are inside this circle.
You are held.
The border collie leans into you.
Warm and unhurried,
Whole.
It doesn't rush.
It does not second guess.
It follows its knowing without apology.
This is what it is.
Showing up.
As you.
Trust is not the absence of fear.
Trust is moving forward anyway.
Because something deeper than fear is pointing the way.
And just breathe that in.
And let it settle into your bones.
You are allowed to trust yourself.
You have always been allowed.
And then slowly,
Gently,
Begin to feel the edges of the circle again.
The border collie looks at you one last time.
Those bright,
Clear eyes.
Full of everything that needed no words.
Place your hand on its head and feel the warmth there.
Thank you,
You say,
And that's enough.
Turn your awareness to each direction.
To the north.
To the ancestral line.
To all the guides that came before.
Bow your head.
Thank you for holding wisdom for me.
To the west.
To the lessons.
The releases.
The endings that made space.
Thank you for the courage.
Those broad.
To the south.
To love.
To family.
To belonging.
Thank you for the warmth that has carried me.
To the east.
To new beginnings.
To the sunrise still coming.
Thank you for what is ahead.
The four guardians hold the circle a moment longer.
And then,
One by one,
They release you.
Not abandoning you,
Simply trusting you to carry what you have received.
The circle dissolves like mist in the morning.
Begin to feel your body.
The weight of it,
The warmth of it,
Right here,
Right now.
Feel the surface beneath you.
Solid,
Real,
Present.
Wiggle your fingers slowly and your toes.
Take a long breath in,
All the way down into the belly.
And a slow breath out,
Long and slow.
Letting the meditation settle into your cells.
One more breath,
In full and deep.
And out,
Easy and complete.
When you're ready,
Let your eyes flutter open,
Gently.
Take a moment before you move.
Look at your hands and feel the ground.
You are here.
You are whole.
You are trusted and trusting.
Go gently into your day.
Your guidance is with you.
It has always been.
With love from all the ones who showed you the way.
Welcome back and welcome home.
