The dwelling place of self.
The navel and abdomen position in the Ushiraki for you and your animal companions.
Welcome everyone.
Today we focus on a position at your body center,
At the center of you.
So,
Let's place our hands over our navel and lower abdomen flat,
Warm and relaxed.
And you can use one hand or both hands and just resting on the skin or hoovering above,
Whatever feels right in this moment.
And this honesty,
This what feels right,
Is the heart of the Reiki practice.
So before we begin,
Let's settle on a word about intention and intuition.
So at any point during a Reiki treatment,
You can follow your intuition instead of the hand positions.
If you get the feeling that a part of your body needs Reiki,
Go to that part and stay there until it feels balanced.
The most important thing during a Reiki treatment is to relax and let it flow.
And this is not a beginning teacher or beginner teacher,
This is a master teaching.
So Yushi himself,
In the original practice,
Taught his students to use their hands intuitively,
To place with the palms before allowing or following the map.
The palm healing initially consists of the five head positions.
And after a practice or a practitioner would intuitively place their hands elsewhere on the body,
The structure always meant like a doorway,
But it wasn't a destination.
So before you ever place your hands in this position,
I want you to pause and set a clear intention.
Not a complicated one,
Something simple,
Something that belongs to you right now.
Because having the right intention guides the universal energy to the best position possible.
Being knowledgeable about each hand position empowers your Reiki practice through clarity and focus.
So trust your body,
And if this area calls for more time,
Give it,
Because comfort matters.
Reiki can be practiced with hands-on and hands-off techniques,
But it allows yourself that freedom.
So let's go to the point where we are talking about today.
And that is the Hara.
And the Hara is the area of your lower abdomen region,
Below the navel.
And this area contains the tendon,
Or chan-jen,
Your center of gravity.
Located approximately 2 inches below the navel,
And it has always been inside of you.
But it remains dormant unless you know how to access it.
It is said that the ki,
The energy,
Is moved by the mind.
Where the intention goes,
The ki,
Or the chi,
Flows.
And by placing effortless empathy and energy in this area,
In the lower abdomen,
Integration of body and mind is deepened and strengthened.
And the spirit is dynamically grounded in the present moment.
And just below the navel is the Shat-his-tana,
The sacral chakra,
Your dwelling place of self.
It governs creativity,
Relationship,
Pleasure,
And emotional expression.
The dwelling place of the self reflects on that.
Every creative impulse,
Every emotional truth,
Every relationship you have originated is here.
So when this chakra is balanced,
Individuals may feel energized,
Passionate,
And open to life joys.
And an open sacral chakra can lead to healthy relationship,
Creativity,
And a sense of enjoyment.
In the intimate and emotional connection.
When the chakra is balanced,
There may be problems in,
Or imbalanced,
There may be problems in the lower back,
Pelvis,
Or hip.
Sexual abuse or trauma can create an energy block right there.
Reiki can help bring these deeply suppressed emotions,
Especially anger,
To the surface and allow us to start to finally fully heal.
The chakra can be blocked by trapped emotions such as fear,
Resentment,
Blame,
Shame,
Guilt.
So many of us are carrying something in this part of our body.
And that's we have never had words for.
An old story about whether we are allowed to enjoy our life.
A creative impulse that was shut down so many times,
It stopped knocking.
A relationship that has left something stuck in the lower belly,
Unprocessed,
Waiting.
And when we place our hands here with warm intention and Reiki,
We are not forcing anything.
We are creating conditions for what's long held to feel safe to move.
There's also an invisible aspect to the hara at birth.
The umbilical cord connecting to the baby,
To the mother,
Is cut.
But there remains a vibrational connection between the navel and the earth and the universe.
A constant loop of resonance,
Of reciprocity.
We can actually experience the oneness of life in the hara and truly embody it.
Your navel has always been your original point of connection to life,
To nourishment and to belonging.
So let's have a look at our animals.
Animals,
The sacred chakra,
Is located just below the navel and associated with creativity,
Passion and emotional well-being.
When balanced,
Pets demonstrate healthy social interactions,
Enjoy playfulness and possess a zest of life.
So stimulating the sacral chakra is beneficial for animals before a visit to the vet or if this is a strong emotional side.
But balancing the sacral chakra before and after a training or an obedience lesson is also beneficial.
And helping the animal relax and rediscover its natural boundaries.
In a dog,
The sacral chakra is in the lower belly,
In the hip.
Glowing orange,
The center of emotions and creations and joy.
For the cats,
It's a little bit lower,
But around the same workplace.
So when balanced,
Of course,
You can feel the happiness and the joy and the love in an animal.
It's the same in dogs,
In cats.
They show it in a curiosity,
What you're doing and in an interest in what you're doing.
And of course,
They also love joy and racing around.
A blockage may lead to emotional overreaction,
A fear or a loss of zest of life and joy.
And we've spoken about this before,
But if your chakras are imbalanced,
Your pets may absorb your energy as well.
Animals lack of defenses,
Humans,
We have.
So we can be healing ourselves in the benefit of healing our pet.
So your creative block,
Grief or shame,
Your animal shares it and without words or any way to release it.
So when you place your hands on your lower abdomen with Reiki,
You are not healing alone.
The warmth radiates,
Moving through the invisible cord that is connected to your animal.
So how to practice with this is to lay down.
It is most comfortable for the body in that area.
And to place one or both hands on your lower abdomen,
Over or below the navel.
And let them be heavy and warm and still.
If hovering feels more natural today or at any moment you want to practice,
Just trust that,
That's fine.
So the ki,
The energy,
Is not pushed or forced with hands.
It is actually drawn through them by receiving into the body.
And once the body senses the ki,
It takes it where it needs it.
So you cannot do this wrong.
And stay there for at least 3 or 5 minutes.
Some practitioners typically experience sensations such as a tingling or warmth or coolness or pressure.
Which is a signal that it needs to remain in that area until that energy is balanced.
And if you feel any of these,
Stay longer and follow that.
When your animal companion,
Work gently around the lower belly and the hip area.
And visualize a warm orange light glowing below the navel.
Moving gently like water.
As you inhale,
Imagine that light expanding.
And as you exhale,
Feel the tension dissolving.
If they move away,
Honour that.
And if they lean in,
Stay as long as they want it.
So this beautiful place means the dwelling place of the self.
Not perform or acceptable self,
But the original self.
Arriving with feeling,
Creativity and a deeper desire for life.
Your animal companion has never forgotten that self.
They live there and they know it's still there.
Playful presence,
Emotionally honest,
Unguarded.
So placing your hands here is not learning something new.
It is remembering something ancient.
The navel marks both our beginning and our capacity to begin again.
So,
Just for today,
Be kind to everything living.
And starting right here,
In this belly,
At this original point of connection.
And just know,
Reiki compliments and does not replace for vegetarian and medical care.
