Birds Fluttering, Flying, And Feeding

Listen to the delicate fluttering and cheerful chirping of birds as they eat around a stereo microphone.

I was recently staying away from home and I came across a small dead bush that had various bird feeders on it.

After watching for a while, I waited until the coast was clear and clipped the portable recorder I had with me at the time onto a branch in the centre of the bush.

I then went back indoors and proceeded to watch the birds out the window.

I love the variety of sounds here, with the focus really being on the birds visiting the branches to feed. However, there's a gentle white noise effect in the background from a very distant busy road and also a distant bird song.

When I listen back to this with headphones on It almost creates the illusion the birds are circling around your head.

I wanted to capture the bird sounds in a way that you generally don't hear them. One day, I'll look to do this again with my more sensitive microphones too hopefully.
