Though at times my feet may fail,
Grace knows my name.
Though at times my mind does tire from worry,
Concern and fear,
Grace reaches to me to echo the sweetness of the now and the here.
I need only to pause,
To be slow,
Still,
To listen,
To the call,
The gentle whisper,
A sound crystal clear within.
For grace,
She vibrates through bone,
Blood and breath to shine forth in radiance,
Courage,
Conviction and strength.
Change and uncertainty,
They come to usher me closer to home.
And so there in the change is grace making herself known.
She calls me to a deeper knowing and understanding,
Unfolding her petals of truth.
I now start to catch her in the mirror and I see her in you.
What is and where is this grace?
I hear you sigh.
Dear soul,
I am here to tell you.
I see her in the spark of the smile.
I feel her in the solemn ache of the cry.
I hear her in the rustle of leaves that crumble under feet.
Her joy felt in my dog's wagging tail and the harmonic hum of the breeze.
Her freshness bounces forth from the drops of morning dew and the way golden shades of light just seem to trickle through.
I welcome her through the gestures of care and of kind,
From the stranger,
The messengers and the ones my heart does bind.
I see grace fall over the faces of collective calm when bodies move with the rhythm of breath and hearts receive the breath's soothing balm.
Grace,
She gazes upon me through my beloved's eyes.
Even at times when I wish not to be seen,
She upholds me through his arms of strength,
Giving my heart courage to speak.
Grace heralds her chorus when the rumble of anger stirs below,
Teaching me how much further love seeds and actions can be sown.
She dances in the children's feet and caresses space through their hands.
Her wild is in their wildness,
Wonder and curiosity and the ways they tug us away from set plans.
And at times of slumber,
When the dread of my mind does weigh,
Grace whispers softly to me,
Where did you birth kindness today?
Where did it greet your own heart and see that blossom from your growth?
Rest easy now,
Dear light,
For you are wrapped in love's cloak.
May you never forget the wholeness that is already and always you.
May all that truly matters here stir your soul to breathe anew.
And so dear light,
I invite you to receive the grace that is there in your own heart.
Invite your breath into your body with more fullness,
As though your breath was offered to yourself in kindness as a soothing balm for your soul,
Your body and your mind.
May you never forget the grace that lies in every cell of you.
May you never forget the wholeness that is already and always,
Always you.
May you never forget the grace that lies in every cell of you.
May you never forget the grace that lies in every cell of you.
