Our breath is with us every moment of every day,
So it's always something we can rely on to ground us and slow us down into presence.
I invite you to use this practice to reconnect to your breath.
Get into a comfortable position and tune into your body,
Noticing each point of contact it's making with the surface that's supporting it.
Now notice your breathing.
You don't need to change it in any way unless that would feel more comfortable or natural.
Just follow each inhale and exhale with your attention.
Feel all the sensations of breathing.
Notice the rhythm,
Speed,
And depth of your breath,
Tracing the inhale as your body expands and following the exhale as your body contracts.
If your mind wanders,
That's okay,
Just gently bring it back to your breath,
Continuing to trace the air in and out of your body with your attention.
Allow your breath to continue flowing naturally,
Feeling more deeply into your body,
And if it feels right to you,
You might even offer your breath some gratitude,
Thanking it for giving you life and allowing you to fully experience this moment in time.
Whenever you're ready,
You can gently open your eyes if they were closed and reorient to your surroundings.
I encourage you to come back to your breath throughout your day and live in each moment as it happens,
One breath at a time.
