This is Before You Rise Morning Ritual Meditation.
I am Robert Chang Chopp.
Before you rise out of bed in the morning,
Maybe even before you open your eyes,
Take a pause,
Take your time,
Do not rush your body.
Feel the stillness that's in your body right now as you wake from sleep.
Try to be fully aware of that stillness in your body.
Try to connect to that restfulness in your body.
See if you can feel the quietness of the morning.
See if you can feel the silence within you.
Try to be aware of that inner silence.
Try to feel that inner silence as your mind is not fully engaged,
As your mind is relatively quiet,
Mind is more open,
Like an early morning sky just before sunrise,
Has a sense of clarity,
Freshness,
A sense of openness.
See if you can rest in that sky-like nature of your mind as you slowly awaken.
Become aware of any discomfort you might feel in your posture,
Your position,
In your body,
In your breath,
In your mind or in your heart.
Just be aware of it.
Any discomfort from the night,
Any discomfort from your dreams,
Just be aware of it.
Breathe into those discomforts.
Breathe out and let them go.
Gradually,
Slowly stretch your body,
Gently,
With a sense of care,
A sense of love and warmth.
As you lightly stretch,
Breathe into your chest,
Breathe into your shoulders,
Your neck,
Your back and your legs.
As you rise from your bed and stand,
Try to be continuously aware of your body,
Maintaining that connection to your body.
As you rise up and stand,
Be like a sun rising after the clear dawn.
Allow your awareness to arise like the warmth of the sun.
Allow that energy of the warmth of awareness to fill your body,
To fill your speech,
To fill your mind.
As you stand,
Try to connect to those feelings of warmth,
Wellness,
Peace,
Self-kindness and clarity.
Namaste.
