Love is the highest vibration in the universe and beyond. Letting go and parting ways can be difficult. There are so many different types of love, and yet one thing remains, the resilience and the capacity of the human heart to heal, grow, and transcend the pain of loss.

Reflections on love and loving.

In my clinical practice,

I often work with people that are struggling with relationships.

I openly share that I'm single.

I'm no relationship expert.

Not clinically and not personally.

My heart does have a great capacity for love,

However.

It's expansive.

And I don't believe that I have ever stopped loving anyone,

Even when and after parting ways.

I often think and pray for past lovers,

Wishing them well.

I pray that if I wasn't going to be a long-term plan in their life,

That God will send them someone who is,

Someone who will bring out the best and be the best for them.

I pray for the same for myself.

This type of love is hard for many to understand.

It doesn't mean that I don't experience sadness and loss.

Quite the contrary.

Somehow though,

Love for the other person eventually prevails,

Even through the pain.

What I know about love and human relationships is that they are complicated.

Realistically,

It is all about timing.

The timing of when two hearts meet and the timing of when people are ready.

Sometimes in my own life,

Doubt and fear creeps in.

When this happens,

Again I pray.

I pray that God will walk with me,

As He always does.

And when my human heart aches,

I am reminded that I am love and God's love resides in me.

Human hearts are designed to love.

We are created to connect.

Sometimes what we believe is heartache may possibly be a heart cracked open.

A heart cracked open to expand and grow in love.

This love is a deeper spiritual level.

A love in which,

Even during loss,

We wish the very best for our partner.

If you're experiencing heartache,

Loss,

And your heart is heavy,

May you be filled with peace,

Love,

And reminded that you are love.
