Dear one,
Snuggle into your bed.
I'd like to tell you a story of when I was a young girl.
Take a nice breath,
Relax,
Wiggle your toes,
And snuggle your snuggly bear or bunny.
When I was a little girl,
My parents bought me real bunnies and guinea pigs for pets.
They were so sweet and soft and cuddly,
And they were mine as long as I tended and loved them.
I promised to take care of them and play with them and feed them each and every day.
In the beginning,
I was very careful to do this,
And I was very careful to lock the pen after I put them in and cleaned it and fed them.
One day,
I was in a hurry to go play with my friends,
And I forgot to lock the pen.
The next day,
I went to feed my bunnies and guineas and noticed that my favourite bunny had left.
He had run away.
I cried so many tears,
And I cried to my mum and my dad,
And they said you didn't lock the pen,
So the bunny,
He took his opportunity and he hopped away.
I was very sad,
And I cried and I prayed to God that he would bring back my bunny.
My parents were gentle,
And they told me not to have too much hope that my bunny had probably gone and had become part of the wild field that was close to our home,
And he probably found friends there and become one of the wild animals that lived in the fields.
I prayed and prayed,
And I asked God,
Please send me my bunny.
I really loved my bunny.
The next day was Easter Sunday,
And I woke.
And I rushed past the baskets of chocolate bunnies and candies,
And my parents said,
Darling,
Where are you going?
Why are you rushing out the door?
And I rushed out the door to look,
And there,
Hopping down the street,
Was my bunny,
And he hopped down the street,
All the way up to our step,
And my bunny came back.
I picked him up,
And I gave him some food and a snuggle and a cuddle,
And I promised to be gentle and kind and to spend extra time taking good care.
That Easter was my Easter miracle.
I was given a second chance,
A second chance to take care of my bunny,
And I will never forget that Easter,
That it wasn't the chocolates or the goodies or the little things that were left for me.
It was that I had my sweet,
Dear bunny,
And I had another chance to do what was my responsibility.
I wish you the best of sleep.
Cuddle your snuggly and sweet dreams.
Hopefully you think of sweet bunnies and birds and animals.
Good night.
