In the midst of my hurry I did not notice the sunlight,
The glistening,
The breeze,
The flower.
In my hurry I did not notice love's sweet gaze,
Its gentleness.
In my hurry I did not notice the days had turned to years.
I did not notice that youth had turned to age,
And age looked at youth with envy.
I did not notice that the world had changed,
And I did not notice as I did not pause.
And in my hurry a lifetime of moments had come to an end.
Thankfully,
Death did not hurry.
It lent a pause so that I could enjoy that last breath.
And in that breath,
And in that moment,
I experienced a lifetime.
And the pause and the breath flooded me,
Surrounded me with love.
