If you have ever lost a loved one you know that life as you know it is forever changed. How do we go on? In this poem, Renee shares how loss and grief can be transformed. We never get over grief as grief is an expression of love. This love never dies. We can move forward experiencing and sharing this love with others.

Home.

I come home to a physical structure,

A shelter I can return to.

I touch the lock and enter.

And once again caress those ivory keys.

Tonight,

There is no million dollar song.

I sit across from your chair and I unload my day,

Week,

Month,

Year,

And every day that you have missed since you have passed.

I imagine you here,

Your warmth,

Your smile,

The tenderness in your voice.

And I am home.

I touch my chest,

That place where my own heart resides.

For I am reminded of your love and that your love resides within my heart.

And this heart is a home.

As long as I shall breathe,

My home resides here.

For there within lies peace,

Love,

And light.

And a legacy of love.
