Position.
It could be a meditation position,
Such as a cross-legged position.
It could be sitting in a chair,
Lying down in a position that is relaxing for you.
Whatever feels like the best place to be.
And begin to feel into your body.
Notice how your body feels.
Notice the feeling of the breath.
The feeling of your skin and the air on it.
The feel of whatever it is that's supporting you.
Your chair,
A bed,
A couch,
The floor.
And then feel into the muscle and notice any tension.
And also any areas that feel no tension.
Notice any emotions that are coming up for you as you feel into the body.
Is there any anxiety coming up?
Any sadness?
Anger?
Perhaps there's calm.
Bliss.
Rest.
Notice whatever is coming up for you.
And then begin to feel into the feet.
Notice how the feet are feeling.
Perhaps they feel heavy.
Perhaps they feel light.
Do you feel any shoes around your feet?
Do they feel constricted?
Are your feet free?
And then preferably with two feet on a surface,
Either on the floor or on the surface that you're sitting on or lying on.
Start to feel into the soles of the feet and notice how they feel.
Maybe the soles feel tight or relaxed.
Maybe they're neutral.
There's no feeling at all.
Know that anything that you're noticing is okay.
There's no need to judge what's happening.
And then imagine that you have roots in your feet,
Just like the roots on a plant or a tree.
Roots that start to grow.
And you can imagine them growing down into the surface.
Feel them going through that surface of the floor,
The couch,
The bed.
And allow that to penetrate through the floor and right through the building that you're in.
Maybe you're outside and you're letting these roots grow right into the earth itself.
Wherever you are,
Allow them to enter through the earth,
Whether it's been through the foundation of the home you're in or building you're in.
And allow them to penetrate deeply into the earth,
Growing thicker,
Stronger,
And deeper.
Allowing you to feel completely grounded to the earth.
And as you ground down to the earth,
Maybe you're aware of the energy that comes with that.
You might not be and that's okay too.
Imagine in your mind or in the feeling of your body that you're drawing earth energy up into yourself through your feet and then through your whole body.
And as you exhale,
You're allowing any energies that are not serving you to go through your body down into the earth for transformation.
Inhaling and feeling the earth energy coming up into your body.
And as you exhale,
Releasing that that doesn't serve you back to the earth,
Transforming any anxiety,
Any sadness,
Any anger,
Any other feelings that are coming up for you that you don't need.
Grounding deeply into this earth energy,
Feeling solid,
Feeling strong,
Feeling rooted.
And continue to bring that earth energy up through your body and exhale what doesn't serve you back down into the earth for as long as you need to.
Knowing that the earth has the power to transform.
And continue with this practice until it feels like the right time for you.
And then perhaps open your eyes and just come back knowing that you can do this whenever it's needed.
