As I sat on the beach of the Mentawai Islands of Indonesia listening to the waves and birds, feeling a completely open heart - I recorded a 15-minute guided meditation to share this experience with you. This is an offering of stillness and heart opening, connecting with the moment, and all that is within and around you. Sit with me and feel the peace of the waves, and the calling of the birds as you are reminded of your wholeness and union with the divine.

Transcript

Begin by taking a deep cleansing breath with a full release on your out-breath.

Imagine that you're here with me sitting at the side of the ocean as your blue waves lapping up against the shore.

Bring your attention to your breathing.

Notice the air through your nostrils moving into your body,

Filling your abdomen and your chest,

Allowing each release to be complete and full.

Gently allowing yourself to come into this place of peace,

Into this place of awareness.

Turning the attention to yourself within,

Letting go of the outside world for just a moment.

Moving into this time here and now,

Allowing your focus to be entirely on your breath and listening to the sounds of the waves.

This moment here now is the only moment that is true.

Our thinking mind wants to refer back to the past,

Wants to try to predict the future.

We are asking you to be right here,

Right now.

Connecting deeply with this part of yourself that is one with everything.

Turning into this inner sanctuary of your heart,

An inner sanctuary that is connected to the divine,

An inner sanctuary that is always there for you,

That is the essence and the truth of who you are.

Coming back to your breath,

Noticing the air flowing through your nostrils and see if you can bring your breath into your heart space.

Filling your heart space with light,

Imagine that each breath in is bringing in with it a glorious,

Illuminating white light.

Opening your heart,

And each out-breath is a release of any tension,

Any distraction,

Any resistance,

Any pain,

Any longing,

Any attachment.

Each breath coming in,

Starting anew,

Each out-breath a complete release.

Like the waves of the ocean,

There is a cycle,

A gentle knowing,

A gentle connection.

The coming and the going of the waves is like the coming and going of your thoughts,

The coming and going of your breath.

The coming and going of our life,

Of our circumstances,

A rhythm and a pattern.

Divine Spirit,

Thank you,

Thank you for this chance to come into this inner sanctuary of our heart where we can open to the knowing that everything is indeed working out for our highest.

That even when it feels like the times are difficult,

Even when it feels like we don't have enough,

Even when it feels like we're walking through the wilderness,

That we can connect and be with this truth of who we are.

Being one with our breath,

Being one with the waves,

Being one with the cycles.

Knowing that the storms will pass.

Knowing that we are resourced with everything that we need within us at every moment,

If we are willing to open and connect to that truth.

And in this quiet,

Beautiful place,

Allow yourself to feel,

Allow yourself to recognize that each feeling is valid,

Important,

And part of your journey and your experience.

That you can trust these feelings,

That you want to listen,

You want to know,

You want to understand,

You want to take in all that is available for you to learn from these experiences.

Moving back to your breath,

Bringing it into your heart.

It may feel at times that we are lost,

But there is always a cycle,

There is always a journey,

There is always a path back to you.

Back to your remembering your wholeness,

Back to remembering that you are indeed connected and one with spirit,

That you are one with everything.

What this experience of being you is unique and precious.

Even the difficulties are part of this incredible gift.

And if we can change our perception just a tiny bit,

Just a little bit,

We can start to see in a completely new and different way.

Are you ready to see?

Are you ready to see it differently?

Are you ready to start anew?

And when we can look at our lives for what they are,

Instead of what we wish and wanted them to be,

We begin to see the beauty that is there.

We begin to notice the feelings that we have that are directing us towards our highest self,

That are offering us alignment for something even better still.

But first we need to be willing and ready to see it as it is,

Letting go of our expectations,

Our frustrations,

Our grievance,

Our pain,

Allowing it to direct us,

Show us,

Help us to see.

What comes to you in this quiet place?

What offerings are being given to you?

Can you listen to that still,

Small voice within your heart?

Can you listen to the still,

Small voice that is connected to Source?

To your breath,

Filling your heart with light,

With compassion,

With love,

With grace,

With tenderness.

Are you ready to let go of what no longer serves you?

Are you ready to release what you believed was who you were supposed to be,

How it was supposed to be,

And see that there is even more?

Being present and at peace in your body here,

Now,

Today,

Regardless of what your life may look like.

That is the start.

Appreciating,

Loving,

Accepting it just as it is,

Letting go of everything outside of yourself and moving into your own awareness,

Your own healing,

Your own light,

Your own connection to this inner sanctuary of peace.

Allowing the waves of your mind to soften,

Releasing the storm,

Open,

Kind,

Patient,

Tender.

Your breath is a reminder that you can come back to this heart space,

But when we attend to our inner self,

When we attend to our inner light,

When we connect to something even greater still,

And open to the truth of who we are,

And the wholeness of who we are,

And the oneness that we are with everything,

We begin to let go of the craziness,

Of the chaos,

Of the outside world.

We stop trying to make it be different.

We stop trying to control it.

We stop trying to fight it.

We come into alignment and peace.

You are peace.

You are light.

You are love.

You are whole and you are holy.

You are one with everything,

As the waves on the ocean,

In rhythm,

Part of everything.

Allow this peace to live with you today.

Allow it to be part of you today.

Allow it to continue through the day,

Through the weeks,

Through the months,

Through the years to expand and open to this beautiful inner sanctuary of your heart.

A daily promise to release all that no longer serves you and come into your true alignment of self,

Trusting the process,

Allowing yourself to be human,

To listen to your feelings,

To let them teach you and show you the way.

Be gentle with your heart.

Be gentle with yourself.

Be gentle to others.
