Today has been a day,
Hasn't it?
Some days feel long,
Some feel sad,
And some feel stressful.
Some days feel downright tiring,
For a lot of reasons.
Other days feel really great and happy.
Some days feel like they go by so fast.
Some days feel mixed with all kinds of different emotions.
Each day is unique.
No matter what kind of day you had today,
You're here now.
You have made it through,
And it is now time to take time for yourself,
To relax,
And unwind.
Let your imagination take you on a mini vacation away from the activities of the day.
Find a safe space to lie down or sit in a comfortable position,
And close your eyes.
Breathe normally for a few moments as you shift your body around to get yourself in just the right position.
Now take a deep breath in and exhale.
Take another deep breath in and out.
One more time.
A deep breath in and release.
Now imagine it's evening time and your responsibilities for the day are all done.
There's nowhere else you need to be.
Nothing left that you need to do.
You've gone to the beach to have some peaceful time for yourself.
When you approach and look out at the beach,
You notice everyone else has left for the day.
The beach is all yours to relax on,
With no disruptions or distractions.
You walk down the boardwalk and find stairs with 10 steps 10 steps leading down to the beach.
In awe of the sight of the beach,
You slowly go down the steps one step at a time.
10,
9,
8,
You stop and look around.
7,
6,
5,
4,
You stop and feel the air breathing past your skin.
3,
2,
1.
With your next step,
Your bare feet touch the sand.
The sand is cool on your feet.
It's a fine,
Smooth sand.
The texture feels amazing.
You leisurely walk down to the shoreline and take your time along the way.
It's not a far walk to reach the shore.
You decide to take a nice walk along the beach.
The water feels lukewarm,
Perfect.
The waves gently lap at your feet and ankles.
You hear the birds singing in the distance.
They sound so happy and peaceful,
Just as you are feeling in this moment.
Your feet feel comforted by the sand.
It's supporting the bottom of your feet and filling the nooks and crannies between your toes.
You notice the air comfortably warm,
Not too hot and not too cold.
The air feels fresh with just a hint of salt water in the air.
It smells wonderful.
The ocean is giving a slight breeze across your skin.
You feel it tickle across the top of your skin,
Never so gently.
Looking out at the ocean,
It's just about sunset.
The sun is dipping lower,
Lower,
Lower on the horizon.
As the sun sets on today,
You take a moment to breathe in and out and recognize that today has concluded and now it's time to rest.
You walk a few steps back up the beach,
Away from the shoreline.
There's a blanket waiting for you that you laid out for yourself.
You get comfortable seated or laying down on the blanket.
You find that the sand under the blanket provides the perfect pillow for your body.
You're incredibly comfortable.
You're not too hot or too cold,
And you find yourself just breathing.
It feels like no time has passed.
When you notice the full moon has risen,
It looks incredible.
You notice the white and gray features of the surface of the moon.
You see the reflection of the moon dancing across the water.
The rest of the sky is a deep,
Deep black.
The stars are out.
There are so many stars shining and glimmering.
It feels like they are gleaming down from above just for you.
You stare off at the moon and stars for a while,
Taking it all in.
You still hear the ocean gently ebbing and flowing,
The waves gently lapping on the shores of the beach,
The air and sand still so perfectly comfortable.
You notice yourself mindfully and silently taking in this experience and feeling so at peace.
You notice your body truly releasing any tension it's held throughout the day,
Bit by bit.
You notice your toes relaxing,
Your feet relaxing,
Your ankles,
Calves,
And knees all relaxing,
Your thighs and hips so relaxed,
Your stomach,
Lower back,
Chest all gently relaxing,
The tips of your fingers,
Through your hands and wrists,
Your forearms,
Elbows,
And upper arms all so relaxed,
Your shoulders and neck gently relaxing,
Your jaw and your facial muscles all the way up to the very top of your head,
Feeling so relaxed.
You are feeling so physically,
Mentally,
And emotionally relaxed.
You stay in this moment,
And with this peaceful,
Relaxing feeling,
For as long as you need.
