Are you really ready for it?
Face it.
We are no longer a patient society.
We expect results in nanoseconds,
And sometimes that's too slow.
So imagine having to believe in something you want that is going to take time to get.
And what's worse,
You don't know how much time it will take to arrive.
And in the midst of your inpatient squirming,
You may have to ask yourself,
Am I prepared to receive this blessing?
On first instinct,
Your answer is yes,
But let's really look at it.
You pray for a car.
You shop for it,
And you finally get it.
Happy day!
Well,
Sorta.
To see,
You didn't get your driver's license,
Or you didn't get your car insurance,
Or though you were able to afford the down payment,
You didn't properly budget for car payments.
And so the car stays parked,
Or gets repossessed.
In other words,
You weren't prepared.
We can have whatever we want in this life,
But we have to be prepared to receive it and keep it.
Some preparation is obvious,
Like going to college or getting specialized training.
The preparation I'm talking about is more personal.
Do you possess the qualities necessary to receive this blessing?
For instance,
If you're praying for a better job,
Are you already a strong worker?
Are you dedicated?
Or are you lazy?
If you're lazy,
Then it doesn't matter what kind of job you get,
Because you have not cultivated the qualities within yourself that allow for you to obtain and keep a better job.
Have you made room for this blessing?
Just like you would rearrange your home to prepare for new furniture,
You have to rearrange life as you know it to accommodate this new blessing.
Are you praying to start your own business?
Well,
You're not likely to be successful if you continue dedicating 50 hours per week to your present job and scraps of time to your new business.
If you're not willing to rearrange your life,
Then you're not prepared to receive the blessing.
Will you hang on to your blessing when you receive it?
As with anything new,
There's going to be a honeymoon period and then it's going to lose its luster and become mundane.
Depending on what you asked for,
There may even be some work to maintain the blessing.
And so we think the blessing is no longer for us because it doesn't bring the super high we experienced when we were dreaming about it.
Don't be fooled into giving up what you asked for.
Your boredom may come from the fact that you've mastered your blessing at this level and it's time to go bigger.
Once you are prepared,
Your blessing will arrive.
Don't rush it.
Use this time to develop those qualities so that you are ready to receive it and keep it.
