Hello,
And welcome to this meditation.
You can be sitting or lying down.
Whatever helps your body soften.
You can close your eyes or soften your gaze.
Let's take some deep,
Slow breaths together.
Take a slow breath in.
And let it go with a sigh.
One more.
Breathing in.
And releasing.
Let your breath find its own rhythm now.
There's nothing for you to do right now.
But enjoy this meditation.
Nothing to achieve.
You don't have to fix anything.
Just let this moment.
Flow in.
And out of every cell in your body.
Now bring your attention to your inner world.
The one that is always here.
Notice your sensations,
Thoughts,
Feelings moving through you like water.
Notice that you have a whole landscape inside you.
Made up of all the elements.
Fire,
Earth,
Air,
Water.
And for these next few minutes,
We're going to practice something simple.
Saying thank you to what's here.
I know it's not all pleasant.
But we are alive and this is yours.
Begin with something easy.
Maybe your steady heartbeat.
Or your capacity to feel.
Or quality that you're quietly proud of.
Silently offer it a thank you.
Now let your attention widen to include the parts that are a little bit harder to be thankful for.
The place where you feel unsure.
Maybe it's a habit you've been trying to change.
Maybe it's a judgment that you've placed on yourself.
That part of you that whispers,
I'm not enough.
But without needing to change any of it.
See if you can offer a quiet thank you here too.
Thank you for trying to protect me.
Thank you for showing me where I care.
Thank you for being part of the whole of me.
Maybe you put your hand on your heart to make this feel just a little bit more real.
Maybe it does feel real.
Or maybe that gratitude is a little small,
Awkward.
It doesn't matter.
Anything is welcome here.
Gratitude doesn't ask you to like everything.
It simply says you belong.
You matter.
I'm glad you're here.
Now let your attention drift outward.
Maybe you notice a sound.
Birdsong,
Wind.
The hum of a room.
The sound of a cat or a loving pet.
Notice something curious.
The song is out there.
That is where it is happening.
Yet the beauty of it is felt inside.
Inside your inner world that receives it,
That softens it.
That lights it up.
The beauty is made.
In the meeting of the inner and the outer.
Which means the capacity to feel that beauty is yours.
It lives inside you.
Part of you that can be moved by a bird song That is the same part that is here right now.
Worthy of this gratitude.
Maybe you can let the corners of your mouth lift just slightly.
A soft smile.
It doesn't have to be super happy.
It might even carry a little sadness,
A tenderness.
A smile you'd give a dear friend who's been through something hard.
Let that smile rest on your face.
Feel how it warms you.
Maybe even place your hand on your chest now.
Feeling the heartbeat within you.
This is where self-love begins to grow.
And the gentle regard you offer yourself.
Again and again.
Let gratitude and self-love settle together now.
The more you thank what's within you,
The steadier your love for yourself becomes.
Take a deep breath in.
Feel your whole body,
The surface beneath you,
The room around you.
And when you're ready,
Let your eyes open.
And carry this softness with you.
And know that you can always come back to this practice.
And is always here for you.
Namaste.
