Our brain functions differently when we are in an ego state. In the East, sages say when we follow virtues such as love or gratitude, the frontal lobe is activated—and all other brain regions begin to harmonize, allowing our true self to emerge. When we grow up in an environment where the soul is not welcomed, our ego is built on anger toward our true nature. Beneath the anger lies fear, and beneath that fear is a deep grief of being separated from our soul. Feeling these emotions—the anger, the fear, and the grief—is the key to reconnecting with our soul, which is our true nature. We cannot fix the ego or ourselves, but we can try to find our true nature. Trying to fix turns into fighting, and that will always backfire: What we fight gets bigger. Instead, we can follow the magical weave of true evolution by listening to and following our hearts and intuition. This path leads us—gently, lovingly, and consistently—toward our true self, toward freedom, happiness, and Love.
