Upon understanding our emotional clutter, we first need to look and accept it and let it flow through us, this poem by Rumi is an excellent reminder of how we can accept our emotions on a daily basis. This will allow us to move on in a much clearer light!

Hi,

This is Pam from Simplicity Life Coaching,

Here to give a little insight on emotional clutter.

Today,

I'm going to read you a beautiful poem by Rumi called The Guest House.

When we think of emotional clutter,

Just know that the more you try to rid yourself of it,

The more you resist it,

The more it stays with you.

So try to let it flow from you so it can flow out of you.

The Guest House.

This being human is a guest house.

Every morning a new arrival,

A joy,

A depression,

A meanness,

Some momentary awareness comes as an unexpected visitor.

Welcome and entertain them all.

Even if they're a crowd of sorrows who violently sweep your house,

Empty it of its furniture,

Still treat each guest honorably.

He may be clearing you out for some new delight.

The dark thought,

The shame,

The malice.

Meet them at the door laughing and invite them in.

Be grateful for whoever comes because each has been sent as a guide from beyond.

Have a beautiful day.
