Hi,
This is Pam from Simplicity Life Coaching.
I'd like to start with a couple quotes I have found.
You never have to throw away that which you never buy.
Collect moments,
Not things.
If it doesn't add to your life,
It doesn't belong in your life.
Clutter is nothing more than postponed decisions.
Quotes can be very helpful and good reminders to just think of when we get stressed.
When we don't have negative thoughts clouding our minds,
Our thinking can become clear and our thought power can be used to make excellent simplified decisions.
Let's face it,
Clutter becomes a lazy habit with our busy lifestyles.
And being vigilant of this will keep your habit from taking root and taking over your space and home.
We basically collect things in our lives to make us feel safe and secure.
Our emptiness inside of ourselves brings fear and worry.
So we try and fill our minds in space with new material things to divert our thoughts,
Which in turn eventually becomes overwhelming and brings us right back full circle to our worries and fears.
A weighed down mind is a weighed down environment.
Our minds are the whole root of our abundance,
Negative and positive.
We all want to have abundance flow to us simply with great energy.
Thoughts can be overwhelming and fuse together,
Making it hard to separate the negative from the positive and feel organized.
So we go out looking for ways to distract this confusion in the external world,
Trying to avoid ourselves and get material things or find other people to make us feel better.
Relationship clutter is a whole other topic and can be extremely difficult to learn about ourselves and how to relate to others.
I like to address four types of emotional clutter that we can have in our home space.
Number one,
Nostalgic clutter.
This can be odds and ends from our childhood and past glory days that we hold onto.
For example,
Baby pictures,
Clothing,
Things like eight track tapes that are way outdated because we have our favorite songs now on our favorite playlist device.
With some of these items like pictures or a favorite t-shirt or things that you can take pictures in bunches of,
Make a scrapbook for these momentums.
Number two,
Gifts.
Gifts that you can't part with that we have collected from friends and family that we never use or never really liked,
Can be regifted or donated to a good charity without feeling guilty.
Let's face it,
No one ever comes over to your house to look in your closets to see if their gifts are still there.
Three,
Your kids around clutter.
Start with making a collage of their favorite artwork and their first born momentums.
This is a fun way to choose special memories and let go of the rest.
Fascinating to other unfortunate children such as toys and clothing can be such a valuable gift to many families in need.
Last but not least is our aspirational clutter.
It starts out with great intent but trying to start too many projects at once is an underlying minding task and things always seem to get put on the back burner.
If you start a project,
Do it one at a time and try to put a timeline on it to finish it.
Get rid of unfinished things you have no interest in anymore.
Remember we want to collect memories,
Not material things.
One of the most favorite things to do and is essential to our daily lives is getting out into nature.
Pick a favorite spot to sit or a place to walk and do this for 15 minutes daily by yourself or with your dog if you have one.
And just breathe in the fresh air.
Do breathing meditation exercises and let your mind shut down.
Just take in all the beauty around you with joyous emotion.
We want to have joyous emotion as much as possible throughout our day.
If you think you don't have time,
This is the exact time to do it.
Remember,
Always have a less is more mindset.
Practice makes perfect.
Take good care.
