So we're gonna start out with a little bit of an oxymoron.
The journey of happiness now.
Let's unpack that.
Like let's face it,
There's no pill that just makes you happy,
That's sustainable,
That doesn't have any side effects.
It just doesn't work that way.
So happiness is kind of a journey if you're not already there.
And if you are already there,
Then it's been a journey I'm guessing.
So happiness now.
Let's unpack that.
Instead of happiness 50 years from now,
20 years from now,
And then every day up until then not happy.
Or you get there and it turns out it's not what you thought and you haven't done the work on yourself,
So to say,
And you're not happy.
So happiness now.
Like we can actually like starting today become increasingly happier.
I don't know if that came out just right,
But you get what I'm what I'm going with.
Like starting today you could be that much happier.
And just being on the journey of happiness does something for you.
Now there's also presence,
There's also aliveness,
There's also peace.
That's part of the happiness now journey.
So let's unpack this a little bit.
The first step is happiness is to be discovered.
Like let's keep the curiosity like at heart.
Like every person has their own recipe.
Every person's unique.
Everyone has a unique fingerprint.
Like how amazing is that?
Let alone like skills,
Talents,
Proclivities,
Places to evolve.
Like everything's so unique for the person.
So like let's just keep in mind that there's no perfect framework.
Like this is a framework that I use with clients,
But I just wrote it today and I've been working with clients for 20 years.
So this is kind of like how we,
How we,
I'll go a little quicker,
But this is kind of how we work with it.
So keep the curiosity.
And then the second thing is to uncover your true joys and your lit goals.
Like it's,
It's really profound to realize you want to be a sailor.
But if you're like,
I can't sail until I have a boat.
Well,
We'll get to that.
But like,
Let's just discover your true joys.
Like if you love the idea of sailor,
You went sailing five times and it was your true passion.
Like let's take note of that.
And then our lit goals,
Like even 12 year olds have goals.
So I don't know how old you are,
What stage of life you're at.
Like,
Let's just open it up to there's time and you can have goals and you can have meaningful goals.
And I say lit goals,
But put in the word that feels good.
The word for lit that feels good for you.
It could be meaningful.
It could be purposeful.
It could be on point or serving or ripe and ready.
So that's step two.
And these steps can be in any order,
But step three is to become acutely aware of your infinite internal bounty.
And it's actually to touch it.
You know,
A lot of people become quote unquote successful,
But they haven't touched that internal bounty within because happiness has Rupert Spira,
The great spiritual sage points out happiness is who we are.
We are innately happy.
And in the spiritual world,
A lot of meditators,
A lot of people who come to their grace through silence,
Find that internal bounty of aliveness and joy and hope and wisdom and fortuitousness.
The list goes on forever because it's an infinite bounty.
So that's very important.
And we can do that right away.
We can start getting you in touch with that bounty so that you're more buoyant in the tough times and you can soar higher in the in the times that feel really good.
The next step is to create presence,
Peace and aliveness.
There's some good meditative practices that do that.
There's some good practices that don't require meditation.
There's moments of not thinking.
That's a whole practice within itself.
It's a form of Buddhism too.
Like let's get that clarity of mind so that we're not agitated at the grocery store or so that interacting with our family isn't a chore.
Like that's really,
Really profound.
The next step,
And again in any order,
Is to uncover your evolvement points,
Your points of growth,
Your points of possibility.
One of the great sages of our time pointed out that the reason we're on earth is to evolve.
So that's why a lot of people at dead-end jobs who've been working the same job for 20 years aren't happy because they're not evolving.
And if it only took you one year to learn the job,
I hear if you're at it for 20 years you've only really like done one year.
You get what I'm saying?
Like the point,
One of the points of being here I say is to evolve.
In the Jewish faith they say doing a good deed,
If you did the same good deed yesterday,
No light is emitted.
But when you do a good deed where the day before you didn't,
Light is emitted.
And I think that's really a profound way of saying like positive transformation is really powerful.
And just moving the ball forward that much,
That little bit,
Or a lot,
Something happens and it's magic.
Okay.
The next part is really exciting.
You can start this right away too,
Is to take part in your true joys,
Your lit goals,
And your evolvement points.
So if sailing you know is a joy you haven't done in a while,
Watch a documentary,
Look up some poems on sailing,
Connect with a friend who's got a boat,
Join a meetup group,
You know,
Like start that path.
And starting on that path of your true joys and your lit goals is,
In your involvement points,
Is being in the arena as Theodore Roosevelt points out.
It's living your life,
It's not wondering and wishing and wasting your life away,
Wondering what could be.
And I say wasting,
You know,
You get the point.
That sounds a little harsh,
But sometimes we get in ruts and it's not wasting,
It's part of life.
But the point is when you're actually living your goals,
Like I feel like I'm doing right now by sharing this medicine,
I feel like I'm not wasting my life like wondering what would happen if I made a podcast or an audio or brought this into the world.
I'm actually doing it and it lifts me,
It propels me,
And it's fuel.
And we need that fuel to like allow us to do chores,
And we need that fuel to allow us to overcome some of the hurdles in life,
And we need it just to put some wind in our sails.
So taking part in your joys,
Your lit goals,
Like taking action steps towards those,
And like having that be a part of your daily activity,
Like small steps makes the journey happen,
And your involvement points as we've talked about at length.
Alright,
The last step I have on this seven-tier happiness now journey is curate your life and live meaningfully.
Now I'm working on this one myself,
Curating my life.
I mean I've got enough clothes that feel pretty good,
But I'm getting some more that feel more me,
So that's curating my life.
I've lived in my place now for six months and I only have a few pieces of art on the wall,
Not good.
I don't have adequate furniture,
I've got furniture,
But it's not adequate.
So like I could curate my life better,
I have the ability to do that,
And sometimes we don't have the ability and we can work towards that too,
And that's part of curating your life.
I love doodling and drawing and creating art,
Like I have a notebook now,
And I didn't have a notebook for a week.
That was a big step,
Like going to the store and getting a notebook that felt good.
So now it's about actually like interacting with that process and living meaningfully.
Like this isn't for everyone,
Some people living meaningfully would just be these other six steps,
But for a lot of people this seventh step is really what drives it home,
Like a cause,
A benefit,
Healing a family wound,
Healing a friendship wound.
A lot of these steps are living meaningfully because we're evolving,
We're growing,
We're connecting to our internal bounty.
That's living meaningfully,
But sometimes there's that icing on the cake or that cake itself,
That foundation that allows for the biggest movement forward.
So I hope you enjoyed the 7-Tier Happiness Now journey,
And I chuckle because it is a framework and every person's unique,
So if one step didn't feel right,
Maybe that's not for you,
Or maybe not for you right now,
Or maybe that's where you start because that's where the biggest growth happens.
And keep being a blessing in your life,
And keep being yourself.
You matter.
