I would like to know what comes next. I would like a map. A small preview. Some quiet confirmation that the choices I am making will lead somewhere good. I would like to know which doors will open. Which people will stay. And weather the things I am hoping for. Are already somewhere on their way to me. But life has never offered us that kind of agreement. We are given a few facts. A little experience. Some intuition. And then we are asked to walk forward into a future we cannot see. So did I. I am asking for something better than certainty. Help me trust what comes next. Help me remember how many important things in my life once arrived disguised as uncertainty. There were moments when I thought I was losing my direction. Only to discover that I was being redirected. There were plans that failed and created space for something better. They were people I met by accident. Who changed the architecture of my life. There were days that seemed ordinary while I was living them. And only years later did I understand. Perhaps some moment like that is happening again. Perhaps something is already moving toward me that I cannot yet recognize. A conversation. An idea. A person. A decision. A completely unexpected turn. Help me remain open enough to meet it. Because I know how easily intelligence can become an elaborate form of fear. The mind calculates. It compares. It constructs scenarios. Studies the past. And tries to negotiate with the future. Sometimes this is wisdom. And sometimes it is simply worry. Wearing a very good suit. Help me know the difference. Give me the intelligence to prepare for what can reasonably be prepared for. And the wisdom to leave the rest unwritten. I do not want to spend today mentally rehearsing disasters that may never arrive. There are better uses for imagination. Let me imagine possibility too. Let me leave room for fortunate accidents. For surprising kindness. For unexpected solutions. For the possibility that life still has beautiful things. And when things unfold differently from what I hoped. Help me resist the temptation to declare the story finished too soon. A difficult chapter is still a chapter. A closed door is still only one door. A delay may change the timing of everything. And an ending may create a space whose purpose I cannot yet understand. I have lived long enough to know that some of the things I once desperately wanted would have been wrong for me. And some of the things I once tried desperately to avoid. Became teachers I would never willingly have chosen. Life is strange that way. Meaning often arrives late. So help me become patient with stories whose meaning has not arrived yet. Help me trust the unfinished sentence. Help me stand inside the question without forcing an answer. And when I must make a decision. Let me choose from courage. From the deepest part of myself. Let me remember that a good decision does not guarantee a perfect outcome. Simply means I met the moment honestly. And that is a no. I release my demand to know the ending. Sometimes the most beautiful part of life is precisely the part I could never have planned. I don't know.
