Just sinking into wherever you're seated.
Inhale,
Fill your lungs deeply and exhale,
Just feel yourself sinking and settling.
Sinking,
Deeply,
Exhaling,
Sinking and settling.
This time when you inhale,
Hold the breath,
Sip in a little more breath,
Hold it,
And then audibly exhale.
We'll do that again.
Inhale deeply and hold it,
Sip in a little more air and hold it,
And exhale deeply.
One more time with that inhale deeply and hold it,
Sip in a little more air,
And then audibly exhale.
And notice if there's any change in your body.
Notice what you feel like.
See if you can bring your attention to your heartbeat.
Breathing like that oftentimes will allow us to focus more on our beating heart.
And now I welcome you in your mind's eye to picture a beautiful spring scene.
We're transitioning now.
This winter,
This COVID winter is losing its grip.
Got warm weather coming the next seven days.
So I want you to picture in your mind's eye a scene sometime about the middle of May with the flowering trees and lilacs.
And pick your favorite or pick one that you're drawn to,
Whether it's a flowering crab tree or cherry tree,
Whether it's a lilac bush,
Whether it's a field of tulips.
Want you to picture that and imagine and see as many details of that scene as you can.
The colors,
The fresh smell of spring,
The sun,
The breeze,
The birds.
Take in all of your senses.
Whether you would inhale and then sip in again,
Do that with all of your senses.
See what you would normally see and then see a little bit more.
Smell what you normally smell and smell a little bit more.
Picture this glorious transition,
This beautiful,
Colorful,
Amazing transition that we go through every year from the dull gray ice of winter.
The sound of spinning car tires on icy pavement.
The rush from getting from the car door to the next door that you're going into,
All of that being left behind in an amazing rebirth of color.
That's what we're headed into.
The sap of the trees is already flowing.
We don't see that yet,
But in your mind's eye,
You're seeing that full flower of spring transformation.
And now bring your focus as you still pay attention with your eyes.
Bring your focus to your mind's eye and see if there's anything in this winter that you no longer need.
Anything to be left behind in this season,
In this change,
In the most dramatic rebirth that we'll go through in the entire year.
Plants sprouting from under the ground that used to be covered in snow.
Whatever it is you no longer need,
I want to come to you and then let go of it.
Say goodbye.
I no longer need you.
And breathe in deeply that fresh spring air.
Focus on a deep breath on your next inhale.
Each inhale is like springtime coming in.
No change in the body would be possible without this breath right here,
Right now.
Get into that rhythm of transformation as you're moving toward your higher self,
Your true self,
Letting go of whatever might not serve you.
And don't give it any more energy.
Just let it be there.
Focus instead on the glorious rebirth of spring.
Enjoy that warm sunshine.
Feel its effect on your entire body and everything around you.
Now I welcome you to bring your focus back to the points where your body is touching another surface.
Feel the pressure of your body.
Bring your focus to your eyelids.
You can dip your chin a little bit.
And when you're ready,
You can flicker open your eyes.
