Inside the temple,

Inside the temple of your chest,

There is a space,

An infinite tender space,

A quiet sea,

A gentle ocean,

A subtle wind,

Where creation comes to rest,

Animals curl in to sleep,

Stars are born and countless flowers bloom.

Inside the temple of your chest,

There is a tiny opening to vast emptiness.

Here,

In the gentleness of your breath,

There is a passageway to unshakable peace,

A pair of eyes that can love everything,

That has seen the world come and go,

That has lived thousands of lives,

Of endings and beginnings,

That has seen the moon wax and wane,

The tides rise and fall,

That knows the seasons by heart,

That breathes with the rhythm of the earth,

That has seen landslides,

Hurricanes,

Earthquakes,

Famine,

Droughts,

Tsunamis,

Fear,

Death,

And that has kept looking and has seen rebirths,

Miracles,

Flowers bloom,

Forests grow from barren grounds,

Pure waters pour from the earth,

That has seen the power of love weaving this unbelievable world together.

The tenderness and capacity of human hearts,

That has felt the kindness of plants and animals.

Inside,

Inside the temple of your chest,

There is a space,

There is a space that will remain once this is over.

Once your life is lived,

The ashes are blown,

Your last breath exhaled.

Inside the temple of your chest,

Suns give birth to moons by laughter.

A bright star is sewn in the fabric of your flesh,

Fed by prayers.

There is a silent song,

A silent song singing to you,

Each step of the way home,

Each step of the way home.

If you listen,

If you listen and if faith has disappeared and fear has swallowed you and the world outside has become more real than who you are.

If truth has vanished in darkness,

Listen deeper,

Listen quieter,

Quieter,
