Instead of getting stuck or ruminating on your difficult emotions, this meditation helps you to face and work with them on the body level. This meditation helps you to Recognize and Accept your emotions, Investigate the unmet needs behind them and Nurture yourself in the midst of your suffering (hence the acronym RAIN). If you are new to this practice, start with moderately strong emotions (intensity 5-6/10) to get familiar with the practice and stop the practice if you get too overwhelmed.
