Welcome to this 5 minute stress relief meditation.
Take a moment to settle in,
Find a comfortable position whether you are sitting or lying down.
Close your eyes gently and bring your attention inwards.
Take a deep breath in through your nose and exhale slowly through your mouth.
Again inhale deeply and exhale slowly.
Let go of any stress and tension.
Now bring your awareness to your body,
Notice any areas of tightness or discomfort.
As you inhale imagine breathing into those areas and as you exhale feel them soften and relax.
Let your shoulders drop,
Your jaw loosen,
Your hands and feet relax completely,
Your whole body starting to feel heavy and light at the same time.
Now shift your focus to your breath again,
Breathe in gently through your nose and exhale slowly through your mouth.
With each breath imagine drawing in calmness and ease and with each breath out release stress,
Tension and any heavy thoughts.
Again breathe in and breathe out releasing any stress,
Tension and heavy thoughts.
And as you continue to breathe silently repeat to yourself I am safe,
I am calm,
I am I.
With each inhale let these words fill your mind and your whole being.
With each exhale feel any remaining stress melting away.
Now imagine a warm golden light surrounding you,
Allow it to grow with each inhale,
Washing away stress with each exhale.
Take one more deep breath in and a slow releasing breath out.
Gently wiggle your fingers and toes and when you are ready open your eyes returning to your day with a sense of calmness and clarity.
