An Autumn Walk | Seasons Of Hælu
by Niamh O'Shea
Come outside with me for an autumn walk. Into the woods, beneath fir, birch, oak and rowan. Along the river, through rain and changing light, as the season begins to turn. For thousands of years, people have noticed these changes: what grows and ripens, which birds leave and arrive, when the leaves begin to fall and how much light remains at the end of the day. Our lives may look very different now, but they still take place within the turning year. So perhaps we can simply notice. The changing colours, the cooler air, the evening light. The season outside the window, and where we are within it.
