Welcome,
This is Natalie.
In this meditation we will connect to the energy of the root chakra,
The first chakra located at the pelvis.
It represents our foundation,
Our sense of safety,
Stability and belonging.
When this chakra is balanced,
We feel grounded in the body and connected to life in a steady,
Trusting way.
This practice will guide you into a safe inner space,
Help you to release tension and reconnect with the nourishing support of the earth beneath you.
By the end you may feel calmer,
More centered and more deeply rooted in yourself.
Find a comfortable position,
Either sitting or lying down.
Take any small adjustments you need to take to feel at ease in this position.
Gently close your eyes.
Now notice the points of contact between your body and the floor or chair or bed beneath you.
Allow yourself to feel supported by the surface beneath you.
And notice where your body touches the surface beneath you.
This is your time,
Your safe space.
Everything else can wait.
Place one hand gently on your belly.
As you inhale,
Feel the hand rise.
As you exhale,
Feel it fall.
Let's take three grounding breaths together.
Inhale through the nose.
One,
Two,
Three,
Four.
And exhale gently through the mouth.
One,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Five.
Six.
Again,
Inhale.
One,
Two,
Three,
Four.
And exhale.
One,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Five,
Six.
One last time.
Inhale.
One,
Two,
Three,
Four.
And exhale fully.
One,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Five,
Six.
Feel your whole body softening,
Grounding,
And arriving here.
Bring your awareness to your feet.
Let them grow heavy,
Relaxed.
Notice your legs,
Your hips,
Your belly softening.
Allow this wave of heaviness and calm to spread through your whole body.
You are safe here.
You are at home in your body.
Now,
Imagine strong roots extending down from your pelvis,
From your hips,
Deep into the earth.
See how they spread wide and steady,
Weaving into the soil,
Into the rocks,
Finding strength in every layer they touch.
Feel how the earth welcomes your roots,
Holding them gently but firmly,
Giving you a stable foundation.
With each exhale,
Your roots grow wider and deeper,
Finding stability and support.
With each inhale,
You draw nourishing,
Warm energy from the earth back into your body.
You are connected.
You are supported.
You belong here.
Silently repeat to yourself,
I am safe.
I am supported.
I belong.
Let these words echo inside you as if they're being absorbed into every cell.
Stay here for a moment,
Resting in this sense of groundedness.
Notice the strength and steadiness within you.
When you feel ready,
Slowly deepen your breath,
Begin to move your fingers and toes.
Gently bring your awareness back into the room.
And,
Before you open your eyes,
Take one last moment of gratitude for the solid ground beneath you and the strength of your own body.
Remember,
This grounded state is always available to you whenever you choose to reconnect with your breath and the earth.
