Hello Mama,
And welcome to your mindful minute.
Wherever you may be,
Whether you would like to sit down or do a short meditation standing,
Get comfortable where you are.
Let's begin by opening your awareness to the space around you,
Taking in the space with your eyes,
With your ears,
What sounds are in the room with you,
How does your body feel in the space,
The temperature of the air on your skin,
The contact your body makes with the floor or the chair,
And how does your breath feel in your body.
When you're ready,
Either gently allow your eyes to close,
Or lower your gaze to just a few feet in front of you,
Keeping your gaze soft and unfocused,
And feel into the breath in your body now,
Bringing your awareness to the rhythm in your body.
When thoughts arise,
Simply come back to that reassuring rhythm,
The in and out of your breath.
With the utmost sweetness and compassion for yourself,
When you drift off,
Bring your awareness back to your breath in your body.
Let's take one more really mindful breath,
And then begin to bring movement back to your body,
Perhaps wiggling fingers and toes,
Opening your eyes if they were closed,
Or raising your gaze,
And reconnecting with the space around you.
