Hello and welcome.
My name is Megyn Kelly and in today's meditation we will be using a simple breathing technique to increase your sense of groundedness.
We will be breathing in through the root chakra and really activating this energetic center to help you feel more grounded in your body and in the space around you.
So we'll start by taking a seat,
A comfortable seated position.
If it's more comfortable to lay down you can also do that.
Keeping the spine active but not rigid.
If you're seated placing the feet flat on the ground and if you're laying down keeping the feet active,
Toes pointed toward the sky.
Now begin to notice the breath.
Take note of where the breath is living in your body right now.
Where does it go when you breathe in?
How does it feel when you breathe out?
Notice the quality.
Notice any emotions attached to the breath.
And as you continue to breathe start to notice the bottoms of your feet.
Begin to visualize a deep red light emanating from the bottom of your feet.
And as you continue to breathe start to imagine on the in breath this deep red light growing in its luminosity.
And as you exhale roots begin to grow from the bottoms of your feet into the earth.
Inhale a deep red light becomes brighter and exhale your roots grow deeper.
As you continue to breathe start by sending the breath up through the left foot all the way to the top of the spine.
And as you exhale send that breath back down the body through the right foot into the ground.
Inhale through the left foot all the way up the leg to the top of the spine.
And exhale send the breath down the spine down the right leg out to the right foot into the earth.
Continue breathing here bringing the energy in through the left foot leg all the way up through the spine and exhaling it down through the spine through the right leg and then to the right foot.
And all the while the light grows brighter and your roots grow deeper.
All the while the light grows brighter and you hear the diffuse Continue to breathe,
Taking in the energy of the earth through the left side of the body and sending it back out anew through the right.
Roots growing strong.
And now begin to deepen the breath.
Notice the sensation in your feet and your legs.
Feel the subtle energy as it runs through your spine.
And really take note of what this feeling feels like in your own body,
This sensation of grounding,
Connecting with the earth and participating in a beautiful exchange of energy through your root chakra.
And as you continue through your days,
Remember that you can always return to this simple breath and stop for a moment wherever you are.
Stand firm in the ground or seated with your feet flat on the earth.
And breathe in the earth's energy through the left and send it back out through the right.
Begin to move the toes and the fingers,
Perhaps shake the head from side to side.
And when you're ready,
You can open your eyes.
