Have you ever had a moment where you thought,
Is this my life?
Or what am I doing here?
Throughout this wild thing called your life,
You have collected a vast number of experiences,
Relationships,
Opinions,
Beliefs,
Anecdotes,
Preferences,
Skills.
The list really goes on and on.
Before we start,
It's helpful to recognize at surface level just how productive you've been living in this life.
Having a body,
Experiencing things,
Falling and getting back up,
Sleeping,
Eating,
Rinsing and repeating.
Your life is your own,
Something that is totally unique to you and you alone.
So using that sentiment as a guide,
Take the next few moments to think in your passing,
Given this life that you have lived,
How do you want to be remembered?
It could be true that being remembered isn't at all important to you,
And that's perfectly okay too.
What first words or visuals come to mind?
Is it thoughts of your kindness or your ability to unconditionally love or give?
Is it more important to you to be remembered for honesty or ingenuity?
Perhaps it's your sense of humor.
So think,
If you were to die today,
What do you think people would say about you?
In thinking about this,
Is there any perspective gained in how you step into these next few minutes,
Days and weeks of your life?
And when you're ready,
In your own time,
Coming back into this moment,
Into your body,
And stepping back into the day,
Resting in perspective,
Knowing just how very alive you are.
