Good morning everybody.
I want to welcome you.
Welcome Insight Timer.
Welcome everyone.
My name is Monica Zands and this is Meditations with Monica.
Let's begin by taking a deep breath in through your nose and gently releasing out through your mouth.
In through your nose and out through your mouth.
I'm happy to be here with you today.
Through this meditation we're going to meet with a very important aspect or part of ourself.
We're going to surrender ourselves into the moment,
Into the space inside of our heart.
We're going to allow ourselves to be present.
We're going to allow ourselves to learn,
To listen,
To open,
To expand.
So take a moment,
Get into a comfortable position.
You may be lying,
You may be sitting.
Notice what it feels like to be completely and fully supported.
Feel the weight of your body against the chair or the bed or wherever you may be laying and notice that support now.
When we bring our attention to the support around us,
We notice it,
We receive from it.
We are held by it.
There is nowhere to be,
There is nothing to do.
There is this precious beautiful moment right here,
Right now.
And we're going to journey together,
Connect with,
To learn from,
To tap into this beautiful space.
This space of knowing,
This space of truth,
This space of listening.
You're going today to meet your inner counselor.
What is an inner counselor?
I'm so glad that you asked.
Your inner counselor is your inner wisdom,
Your inner guidance,
Your authentic self.
The part of you that knows you,
Knows who you are,
Knows what you need,
Knows everything about you.
Your inner counselor is the voice of kindness,
Softness,
Tenderness,
The voice of generosity.
So let's take a deep breath in through our nose,
Opening and expanding our chest area,
The space around our heart and gently exhale.
Again inhaling,
With each inhale see if you can bring your awareness deeper and wider and more expansively in the space around your heart.
Knowing that each breath is an inhale to receive the love and an exhale to share the love.
Now I want you to go inside and I want you to think,
Hear,
Tap into,
Notice the voices inside of your head.
There are voices inside of our head that are speaking to us all the time.
These voices are intending to serve us and sometimes they intend to do other things.
They intend to activate us,
To push us,
To pull us or to shrink us.
They have no true intention or desire to hurt.
They really want to serve but the way they sound doesn't always sound that way.
Another deep breath in.
I want you to find the voice that is the most loving voice you've ever heard.
That may be a voice that's really familiar to you,
A voice of a loved one,
A voice of someone that speaks to you,
A voice you've heard in meditation,
Your own voice.
The voice inside of me is a beautiful woman's voice.
I experience her as Mother Earth.
She comforts me,
She speaks to me,
She loves me.
She tells me I'm okay.
She tells me it will be okay.
I trust her.
I listen to her.
That is the voice of my inner counselor.
And it's your turn to listen and find the voice of your inner counselor.
A loving voice,
A kind voice.
Find that voice now.
And notice what it feels like when that voice speaks to you.
The soothing tone,
The gentle rhythm,
The reassurance,
The confidence you have after you hear this voice.
In a time of uncertainty,
This voice comes forward to reassure us.
In a time of confidence,
This voice comes forward to encourage us.
In a time of fear,
This voice comes forward to hold us.
Just notice.
And imagine that inside of yourself,
You have a dial,
A volume.
Turn this voice up to be the loudest voice right now inside of your head.
That's right.
Deep breath in.
Comforting,
Soothing,
Reassuring.
Exhale out.
Deep breath in.
Love.
Kindness.
Gentleness.
Preciousness.
Exhale out.
We enter into times in our life where things don't seem the way we thought they would.
Where moments of great uncertainty lie.
Where moments of great fear lie.
We work to navigate these moments,
But often we don't know where to go with them.
We don't know what to feel.
We don't know what to think.
We may feel lost and alone.
We may feel separate and isolated.
We may isolate ourselves.
Imagine for a moment that any one of those moments,
Any of these times in our life,
We could listen within and allow our inner counselor to guide us.
Meet your inner counselor.
My inner counselor sounds a little bit like this.
Sweet precious,
I love you.
I'm here for you.
You're not alone.
I'm not going anywhere.
There's no amount of sadness,
Concern,
Worry,
Or fear that could push me away.
There's no amount of difficulty or challenge that could push me away.
I'm here for the long haul.
I'm right here by your side.
What do you need,
Sweet one?
I'm here to get through it with you.
And there's nothing you need to do.
There's no way you need to be.
I'm not here to tell you to get over it.
I'm not here to tell you to make it better.
I'm just here to be with you as you go through it right now.
You're not alone.
You have inside of you what you need to move through this.
I love you.
I'm here for you.
I see you.
I see the depth of the pain or the fear.
I see the depth of your feelings.
You're beautiful and wise.
You're strong.
I see you.
I know you.
I know you because I'm in you.
I'm a part of your experience.
And I love you.
That's what she says to me.
She reminds me in times when things are tough.
She reminds me in times when I don't know what to do.
She reminds me to breathe,
To be gentle.
She reminds me to hold on or to let go.
She reminds me always that she's here for me.
She reminds me with that tender,
Precious,
Loving voice that reassures me and comforts me and lets me know I'm home.
You have that in you.
That voice,
That presence is with you all the time.
For me,
It took many,
Many years for me to find her,
To allow her voice to comfort me.
For many years,
I pushed her away,
And you may have too.
Now,
I encourage you to welcome.
Welcome them in.
Maybe it's a female voice.
Maybe it's a masculine voice.
Maybe it has no orientation.
But hear that voice now.
Hear that voice now.
This is the voice of your inner counselor.
And take a moment as you breathe in through your nose.
Exhale out of your mouth,
Allowing your stomach and heart to rise,
Your chest to expand.
What do they want you to know now?
Listen.
Listen to their wisdom.
Listen to their loving.
I love you.
You can get through what you need to get through.
You don't have to be any way.
If you don't feel strong,
It's OK.
If you feel small,
It's OK.
If you feel big,
It's OK.
If you long for things to be different,
It's OK.
If you long for the way things were,
It's just fine.
You're loved,
You're held,
You're a beautiful,
Precious child.
Be gentle with yourself.
Look inside yourself.
I'm here by your side.
I won't leave you.
I'll go with you as far as we need to go.
I won't judge any part of your process.
Your process is your sacred journey.
I know that you have what it takes.
And I know sometimes you just need a gentle reminder.
I'm not here to tell you that it's all going to be OK,
Because I don't know.
I'm not here to tell you that it won't,
Because I don't know.
But what I know is that I'm with you through whatever we need to go through.
I'm here by your side.
A hug,
A gentle kiss on the forehead,
Stroking of the head or the hair,
A pat on the back,
Arms to hold you,
A smile to warm your heart.
It's warm here.
It's safe here.
You're not alone.
I love you.
I'm here with you.
I wish I could tell you that it would all be OK,
But I don't know how it's all going to turn out.
But I know that you and I together can get through anything.
I know that you and I together have access to all the universal truths,
To all the gifts that the universe has to give us.
I love you.
I'm here.
You can lean on me.
I've always been here.
Even when you haven't known,
I'm here,
Walking by your side,
Holding you up when you feel weary,
Reassuring you,
Sometimes even caring you when the steps were too hard to take.
You bring a smile to my face.
You remind me to laugh.
You remind me to cry.
It's OK to cry.
It's OK.
You're OK.
This too shall pass.
But while it does,
You are not alone.
You are loved.
You are held.
You are nourished and nurtured.
I see you.
I really see you.
I really see you.
If this is what your inner counselor sounds like,
Thank that inner counselor.
If this is not what your inner counselor sounds like,
Find the voice that is the most kind,
The most gentle,
The most reassuring.
Your inner counselor is only here to support you,
To lift you up,
To allow you to be exactly where you are,
Exactly who you are,
Exactly all the ways that you are.
Meet your inner counselor.
Meet your inner counselor often.
They await you.
They long to be by your side.
They're always with you.
But sometimes maybe you turn the volume down just a little too low to hear their voice first.
Turn their volume up every day.
Allow them to come inside.
Sit by the fire with them.
Roast marshmallows in your mind with them.
Enjoy the moments.
They're precious.
And they're infinite.
There is no time limit with your inner counselor.
Your inner counselor seeks to hold you and serve you,
Seeks to love you,
Seeks for you to rest inside of that love like a warm breeze rocking you in a gentle hammock.
Feel that presence in you now.
Feel that presence warm your spirit.
There's nowhere to go.
There's nowhere to be.
There's nothing to do.
There's no more right way.
There's no wrong way.
There just is the way that it is,
You,
Precious and kind,
Strong,
Confident,
And clear,
Nurtured,
Loved,
And held.
Remember.
Taking another deep breath in through your nose.
If you're called to,
Placing your hand,
Left hand under right hand on your heart,
Left hand,
Left side of the body,
The mother,
The feminine,
The nurturing,
Right hand holding strong,
Kind,
Loving,
And supportive,
Bringing your awareness back into your own experience,
Into your body,
Wiggling your fingers and your toes.
And if you're ready,
You're called to.
You can open your eyelids,
Bringing your hands into prayer position,
Bowing your head in reverence to this time we spent together.
Your inner counselor is with you always.
Your inner counselor serves you,
Lifts you,
Cries with you,
Loves you through the tears,
Loves you through the joy,
Is with you always.
May you know your inner counselor intimately.
May you walk miles and miles,
Lifetimes with your inner counselor,
Knowing that all is well,
That you're OK.
The light in me,
My inner counselor,
Acknowledges the light in your inner counselor.
May you find peace in your soul today,
Knowing that you are not alone.
And together we say now last.

This meditation has helped me most deeply. I am grieving the loss of the friend who was the love of my life followed by the loss of another soul as beautiful and dear and both women gifted and too young. I have been harsh on myself for most of my adulthood and my beloved friend lifted me as no other. This meditation connected and healed and I will continue to use it. Thank you.
