Do you ever feel like you're constantly running just to keep up with your days?
One thing after another.
Working,
Commuting,
Creating,
Cooking,
Cleaning.
Meetings.
Shopping,
Taking children around,
Socializing,
Walking the dog,
And thoughts that never seem to stop.
And somewhere inside you wish you could just pause,
Take a breath and feel like a little more at peace.
But what if you don't need to stop your life to find stillness?
What if you could find it in the little moments that are already part of your day?
Today,
Let's explore how.
Before we start,
Find a comfortable position and relax.
Take a slow and deep inhale and softly breathe out.
Relax your shoulders.
Unclench your jaw.
Let your body settle.
For these few moments,
Just be here.
I am sharing a few gentle reminders you can return to whenever your day feels overwhelming,
Busy or tiring.
1.
Pause between movements The next time you finish a task,
Pause.
Pause before moving on.
We often move through our days without stopping.
One task ends and another begins.
One conversation finishes and we are already thinking about the next.
But you can give yourself a little space in between.
When you finish something,
Pause for a moment.
And take three slow breaths.
Long and pale.
And long exhale.
One more time.
Long inhale.
And exhale.
Relax your forehead.
Your jaw.
Relax your shoulders Wonderful.
Again,
Deep inhale.
Long exhale and relax your hands.
Relax your stomach.
And relax your legs.
And now gently remind yourself.
This moment is complete.
I gave myself permission to pause.
I can take one thing at a time.
I allow each moment to end before beginning another.
Now take one more gentle breath and when you are ready,
Move forward with little more ease.
So amazing.
Let's move to point number two.
Find stillness in simple things.
You don't always need to sit down and meditate to feel calm.
You can find stillness while making your morning tea.
Taking a shower.
Or going for a walk.
Choose one simple activity and give it your full attention.
Now let's do that by bringing your attention to your breath first.
Then notice one sound around you.
It can be a noise from the fan that is in your room or maybe some noise outside of your room.
So notice that one sound.
Now feel your feet touching the ground.
Feel the gap between the ground and your feet.
Feel the energy between ground and your feet.
And when your mind wanders,
Gently bring it back to what you are doing.
And silently say these affirmations to yourself.
I am here in this moment.
I don't need to rush.
Even in the simplest movement,
I can find peace.
Now take a deep breath and relax.
You can return to this little practice whenever you need a moment of stillness.
Between any task or any time,
Your day feels busy.
Simply pause,
Take a breath and bring yourself back to the moment you are in.
Wonderful.
Number three,
Let your body slow down.
When your body becomes still,
The mind gradually begins to settle too.
So allow yourself to be still and gently turn your awareness inward.
Let's do this together right now.
Gently scan your body from forehead to your toes.
Bring attention to your face.
Neck.
Chest and back.
And your hands and your legs.
Notice where you are holding tension.
And with each exhale,
Allow that area to soften.
And silently repeat.
In this moment.
I allow.
Every part of my body,
Inside and out,
To relax.
I release what I no longer need to hold.
I give myself permission to slow down and rest.
Wonderful.
Now let's move to point number four,
Which is create reminders for calm.
Choose simple reminders throughout your day to help you pause and slow down.
For example,
Take three deep breaths at the red light.
Stretch whenever you hear your doorbell or place a note on your desk that says pause,
Breathe and relax.
Let's practice this right now.
Gently relax your shoulders.
Take three slow and deep breaths.
In and out.
In and out.
One more time,
Inhale and exhale.
Wonderful.
Now notice how your body feels.
Choose one everyday moment when you'll repeat this practice as a reminder to return to calm.
5.
Make stillness sacred When you find a moment to be still,
Don't rush to fill it with another task,
But rather give yourself these little moments to pause.
Because when you honour yourself with multiple moments of stillness throughout your day,
You'll be rewarded with a long-lasting sense of calm and balance.
So the next time you feel you have no time to be still,
Remember.
That even a few seconds can make a difference.
You don't have to make your life quieter to find peace.
Just begin by bringing a little stillness into the moments you already have.
So take that first pause today.
And when you are ready,
Join me for the next meditation as we continue this journey towards a calmer mind and a more peaceful you.
Namaste.
