Let's take a moment to lift our energy and spirits.
We'll do that by tapping into our five senses,
As well as our sixth sense,
Which is our inner life and intuition.
First,
Take notice of how you feel right now.
Just be aware in this moment,
Body,
Mind,
And spirit.
Now sit comfortably,
Close your eyes,
And bring your attention inward.
Breathe and relax.
To begin,
Call to mind an image of something you love deeply.
Visualize this with your inner eye,
The way you would a favorite memory.
For example,
Your mother's face,
Your dog sunning himself belly up,
Or seeing your child take her first steps as a toddler.
Whatever it is,
Hold that.
Let it come into focus clearly with rich attention.
Next,
Consider a smell you love and add that to the visual scene you've just created.
The scent of cinnamon,
Honeysuckle,
How the air smells after a rainstorm.
Whatever it is,
Try to hold this impression simultaneously with the visual image.
Next,
Add a delicious taste,
Summer melon,
Chocolate hazelnut spread,
Coconut ice cream,
Whatever it is.
Hold that impression too.
Now you have sight,
Smell,
And taste alive within you.
Make them vivid.
Remember it's all what you love.
Anything can happen in your scene.
Then add touch,
Your pet's fur,
The sun on your skin,
Or a loved one's hand holding yours.
Add that in.
Then what do you hear?
Spontaneous laughter?
The flow of water by a lake?
The birds singing?
Whatever speaks to your heart.
Create with all your senses.
Now notice what you've created.
In just a few minutes,
You've orchestrated a symphony of sight,
Smell,
And taste.
Feel,
Taste,
Touch,
And sound.
Now with all five senses alive within you,
Focus on your sixth sense.
Tap into the resonance of your heart,
Your belly,
And throughout your whole body.
After you've created this vibrant scene,
How do you feel now?
Do you feel a warmth,
An inner light radiating,
Or sense of contentment within?
Open your eyes and look around you.
Is the world a bit brighter?
Is the air around you a bit crisper?
Do you feel nurtured in your spirit,
Your inner life?
Remember this exercise any time you need a lift,
Or when life appears lackluster.
It will bring brightness and renewal to your day.
