Welcome to this meditation to calm your mind.
Let's clear the mind of noise and cultivate a sense of calm and stillness.
When our minds are racing with thoughts,
We can easily get swept up in the tide of these thoughts.
Through settling the busy mind,
We can find more clarity,
More peace and more focus.
This allows us to be more present and calm.
Let's begin by finding a comfortable seated position with your spine nice and tall and your hands resting gently in your lap.
Close your eyes softly and begin to tune in to your breath.
Take a few deep breaths,
Inhaling deeply through your nose and exhaling slowly through your mouth.
Allow each breath to be smooth and steady,
Helping you to relax and let go of any tension or stress you may be holding onto.
And now slowly returning back to your natural breath,
Bring your awareness to your mind.
Notice any thoughts that may be swirling around like leaves in the wind.
Instead of getting caught up in these thoughts,
Simply observe them with a sense of detachment like clouds passing through the sky.
As you continue to breathe,
Imagine yourself sitting beside a calm and tranquil lake.
The surface of the water is smooth and still,
Reflecting the beauty of the surrounding landscape.
Allow this image to evoke a sense of peace and serenity within you.
With each inhale,
Imagine drawing in the stillness and tranquility of the lake,
Filling your mind with a sense of calm.
With each exhale,
Imagine releasing any thoughts or worries that may be troubling you,
Allowing them to dissolve into the peaceful waters of the lake.
As you continue to breathe,
Feel yourself becoming more and more present in this moment.
Allow yourself to fully immerse in the experience of calm and stillness,
Knowing that you have the power to quieten your mind and find peace within you.
If your mind begins to wander,
Gently bring your attention back to your breath and the image of the tranquil lake.
Remind yourself that it's okay to have thoughts,
But you don't have to engage with them.
Simply let them come and go,
Like ripples on the surface of the water.
Continue to breathe deeply and evenly,
Allowing yourself to sink deeper and deeper into a state of relaxation.
Know that you have the ability to access this sense of calm and stillness whenever you need it,
Simply by returning to your breath and the present moment.
As we come to the end of this meditation,
Take a few moments to express gratitude for this time you've taken to calm your mind and nurture your spirit.
Know that you can return to this practice whenever you need to find peace and clarity within yourself.
