Welcome to this meditation of gratitude.
Let's take a moment to center ourselves and cultivate gratitude through this guided meditation.
For me,
Gratitude is my most important practice.
Life can be turbulent with highs and lows.
There are times where I have felt stuck and life has felt difficult.
These moments can feel all-consuming and suffocating.
But with the lows come the highs.
When life is good and easy,
We can often forget our past suffering.
But it is important to remind ourselves of the lows,
To appreciate the ease of the present moment.
This is the practice of gratitude.
A consistent practice of gratitude can allow more balance in your life.
It is grounding.
It is humbling.
It is finding compassion for the person you once were and appreciation for the person you are now.
By bringing your awareness to the people and things you are grateful for in your life,
You open your heart.
When you are grateful,
You are unable to feel anything other than gratitude.
Anger,
Worry,
Fear and stress all melt away.
For gratitude is a manifestation of love.
Let's begin by finding a comfortable seated position and gently closing the eyes.
Start to deepen your breath.
As you inhale slowly through your nose,
Allow your abdomen to expand fully.
And as you exhale slowly through your mouth,
Releasing any tension or stress.
Feel the rhythm of your breath as it flows in and out,
Grounding you in the present moment.
Now bring your awareness to your heart center,
The place within you where gratitude resides.
With each inhale,
Imagine a warm radiant light filling your heart space,
Expanding with each breath like a glowing ball of energy.
As you continue to breathe,
Think of three things you are grateful for today.
They can be big or small,
Simple or profound.
Reflect on the people,
Experiences or blessings that have brought you joy and meaning in your life.
With each item of gratitude,
Visualize it as a sparkling light,
Adding luminosity to your heart space.
Feel the warmth and appreciation radiating from within as you focus on these blessings.
Now let's express our gratitude.
Silently or aloud,
Say thank you for each of these things with sincerity and intention.
Feel the energy of gratitude permeating every cell of your being,
Filling you with a sense of contentment and peace.
Allow this feeling to linger within you,
Nurturing your spirit and guiding you through the rest of your day.
Take one final deep breath in,
Savoring the feeling of gratitude in your heart,
And exhale slowly,
Releasing any remaining tension.
When you feel ready,
Gently open your eyes and return your awareness to this present moment.
Carry this sense of gratitude with you throughout your day and cultivate joy in every moment.
