A meditation to remind you who you are, especially useful during times of stress related to exams and tests or success criteria that are externally focussed. This meditation reminds you you are already enough.
Making yourself comfortable laying or sitting making those final adjustments that allow you to be comfortable in your body against whatever is supporting you right now feeling the chair or sofa or bed or floor against your body and noticing all the parts of your body that are not in contact noticing the sounds around you or the lack of them closing your eyes if you haven't already done so noticing the light and dark behind your eyes then bringing your awareness into this moment now following your breath in through your nose through your throat into your belly and expanding expanding into your torso your chest and then the air leaving your body as you breathe out allowing the pattern the rhythm of your breath to be exactly what it is right now you need to change it just allow it to be what it is just observe it as if you are a small rowing boat sitting on the ocean ebbing and flowing allowing your awareness to be this little boat as your breath rises and falls within you this constant that is with you all of the time your breath allow it to guide you back to this moment and out of whatever thoughts you are having whatever sensations or emotions you are experiencing allow it to guide you back to the subtleness of this moment to the gentle expansion and contraction of your chest and your lungs over and over again breathing in and rising and expanding breathing out exhaling falling softening just resting with this awareness every time your mind wanders whether to a thought an emotion a feeling just gently guiding it back to your awareness of your breath right now and so you start to explore the notion of letting go and just being here now allow yourself to dissolve into your breath as if you are your breath as if you are inside your body being breathed in losing yourself within your breath finding peace finding rest coming out of the storm of your thoughts of the what ifs and the maybes coming out of the heaviness of whatever emotion may be present for you right now or the tightness of it and allowing yourself to expand into the spaciousness of your breath where there are no demands on who you are or how you have to be there is just your breath ebbing and flowing there is no where you have to be and nothing you have to do just breathe just breathe as if easing yourself down onto the most comfortable sofa so you ease yourself down into your breath and back into you letting go of all the roles you have to play the versions of you letting go of all the criteria the shoulds the have tos and musts coming into this space within you that is already enough there is nothing more you can do to be more than enough for you are already it so rest into this space within you guided again and again by your breath to soften into you to fall back into you as if dropping through all the outer layers of the people you have to be day to day and just arriving back into you into the softness of you where you are already whole dear one you have just forgotten layer after layer of construct and forgotten how magic you are and so this is an invitation to remember to remember that success is not determined by what qualifications you have how much money you have how many children you have what car you drive what phone you use perhaps instead success should be about knowing whether or not you are whole whether you know that you are enough whether you know that you are loved and safe and that you matter and that instead these should be the criteria for success in life or when you have this knowledge and this deep knowledge within you so that it is your truth then you shine like a beacon like a star in the night sky so in this moment dear one I invite you to remember with each breath that you are enough that you are safe you are loved and you matter and that there is no qualification that you will ever receive on a piece of paper that will tell you that and so right now in this moment I invite you to let go of any beliefs that link your ability your success your goodness your enoughness with any grade you get for any exam and as you release this this pressure this stress this worry so you create space for you to be for you to do your best and to simultaneously know that none of it defines you for you are not definable you are a unique jigsaw piece that is the whole universe and there is no one else that can take your place there is only one you and your job is to figure out who that is and then shine like a star in the night sky and give permission for those around you to do the same and whether you are doing that delivering parcels digging the land growing vegetables designing buildings working in the services flying planes writing books knitting blankets bringing up your children making cakes whatever you do the only question is whether you are being you when you do it and so as you surrender into the knowledge of who you are and let go of who you don't need to be and let go of the versions of you that are outdated and inauthentic and stand more in the power and the truth of who you are perhaps already feeling that you are starting to shimmer and so dear one remember who you are that you are safe you are loved and you matter
