Begin to settle yourself into this meditation,
Making sure you feel well supported either with some plump cushions or pillows behind you or around you.
Really feel into the connection of your body and the support of the surfaces beneath you.
Draw into your awareness the sounds around you.
Notice your position in the room and the objects surrounding you.
And take a moment to set your intention for this meditation to receive some strength and support and whatever else you may need for yourself at this time.
If you haven't already,
Gently lower your eyes and begin to draw inwards.
Drawing in all the scattered aspects of yourself,
Allow yourself some time here to settle,
Knowing this precious time is just for you.
See if you can set aside your worries for the next little while,
Knowing that thoughts come and go in meditation and that's alright.
Allow your body to rest here,
Knowing you are safe and supported.
And as we invite the body and mind to settle,
Turn your attention to your breath.
Draw in a couple of deep breaths and release with a loud audible sigh.
Really invite the tension to drop away from your body.
And when you feel ready,
Allow your breath to soften.
Draw the air in through your nose and gently exhale through your nose,
Finding a pace that feels good for you.
With each exhalation,
Invite your body to soften a little more deeply,
Relaxing across the whole of your face,
Releasing any tension or tightness,
Allowing your jaw to soften.
Breathing down into your shoulders now,
Soothing and softening through your belly,
Bringing a sense of relief to this part of you.
And deepening down into the soles of your feet,
Allow a sense of calm to flow through the whole of your body.
Bring to your mind now a tall and majestic tree,
Perhaps a grand oak or an elegant and sturdy fig tree,
Or perhaps something of your own creation.
You may see it or simply feel its presence.
See or sense the trunk of the tree,
A firm and sturdy base from which strong roots reach down deep into the earth,
Supporting and strengthening.
Sense the strong and sturdy lower branches reaching outwards,
Embodying grace and resilience.
And rising upwards toward the light,
Delicate branches and lush leaves flutter and flow with the elements,
Flexible and forgiving.
Take a while now to rest here beneath the canopy of this magnificent tree.
You may see,
Feel or simply have a knowing it is there with you,
A serene and sturdy presence supporting you as you rest here.
Even beyond.
You you you you you you you feel the support of this space know you can always return to the strength that resides within you as you begin to gently bring some movement into your fingers and toes begin to notice once more the weight of your body and the support of the surfaces beneath you gently rub the palms of your hands together,
Connecting once more with your body and know you have received some much needed support here in this meditation it's been a real pleasure to guide you and when you feel ready,
Open your eyes
