Hi there,
This is a short meditation for a quick pumping session.
You can pause here while you get your pump set up and find yourself some back support or pillows if needed.
Once you're ready,
Try to find a tall spine and let's begin with some slow breathing.
Take a deep inhale and an even deeper exhale.
On your next breath,
Make your exhale slightly longer and just continue with a few slow deep breaths.
Gently bring your attention to your face,
Relax your jaw,
Your eyes and your forehead.
Notice the back of your neck and shoulders,
Relax your arms and fingers.
Notice your back and hips and allow them to relax.
Slowly begin to relax your lower body,
Your thighs,
Shins and your feet.
Take a deep breath in and with the exhale,
Let go of any tension that you're holding on to.
Think of a happy memory with your baby,
Whether it's from your pregnancy or beyond.
Now think of another memory about your baby that brings you pure bliss.
Notice if there's a common theme in these memories.
What is it about them that brings you joy?
Notice if this feeling of joy changed anything in your body or your mental state.
Now with this self-awareness,
Repeat the following affirmation in your head.
I'm ready to receive all the love that this child has to offer.
Now take a deep breath in and sigh it out.
May your breath be your anchor as you prepare to take on the world.
Bring a little smile to your face and open your eyes.
