Welcome,
To another one of Gracie's stories.
As you might be familiar with the other stories,
Gracie is our little bunny that has beautiful conversations with her parents about all things considering spirituality,
But also all the other questions that you might have,
But are too afraid to ask.
This story will be about something that we call true love.
Now I'm inviting you to think for yourself,
Do I have any experience with this?
Do I know what it's like to truly love someone?
What does this mean for me?
And as you think about that,
Feel free to pause this audio and to talk about it with your mom or your dad or your caretaker,
Or feel free to lay down,
Think about it in your head as you listen to my voice,
Where I'm going to share one little quick breathing technique with you.
Lay down comfortably,
Close your eyes,
And we're going to do a big inhale and a big exhale together.
That means that we're going to let all the air in through our nose and let it all go through our mouth.
Now follow me along.
In through our nose,
And out through our mouth.
And whenever you're done with that,
Relax and get back to your normal way of breathing.
Now doing this,
Inhaling all the air and exhaling all the air just once,
Is a great way to tell your body it is time to relax.
So whenever you feel tense throughout the day,
Or whenever you're angry or experiencing emotion that you'd rather not have,
Think back about this exercise.
Just breathe all the way in and breathe all the way out,
And you'll feel the difference immediately.
Now whenever you're ready,
I'll be sharing with you the story of Gracie.
A new question slipped into Gracie's head right as she was about to step into her bed.
She was curious about the love between her parents,
And so she asked her dad,
Can you tell me the story of how the two of you met?
Her dad started,
Life is one way.
Something happens,
And then everything changes.
A new,
Expanded perspective on life is what it gave us.
I thought,
Why did we meet?
And why did it happen only now?
I felt like my life had never been complete without her around.
That is so beautiful,
Gracie said with a smile.
Tell me more,
Tell me more.
I've been waiting to hear this for a while.
So how did it go?
Was this love at first sight?
It was,
My dear,
And so I told your mom without fright.
I have done my healing,
And I have surrendered myself to life.
I have suffered,
I have laughed,
I've loved,
And I've cried.
But none of these feelings could describe what I'm feeling for you.
It's like life is showing me a new path,
A new direction,
A higher level,
And it wants me to,
It wants me to experience,
Experience the feeling of what we call true love,
Like the one on first sight,
As if guided by somebody up above.
The whole universe is no longer the same,
Because our eyes met,
Our touch was felt,
Our lips caressed,
And the dance of our souls was led.
So then what happened?
Gracie asked impatiently.
I want you to tell me more.
I just can't wait to hear.
All right,
All right,
I'll share more,
My daughter.
What follows is what I told your mother.
I know you're the one,
You're my queen,
And you know it too.
We know that what we have is real,
It is true.
It feels impossible,
What are the chances of the two of us meeting right here?
I've always believed in faith,
But believing means doubting,
And so it was always paired with a sense of fear.
My body shivers as it touches yours,
As if it knows that what we have cannot yet be explored.
You're living your life,
I'm living mine.
Being with you requires patience.
We both need time.
It wasn't the right timing from the start,
Gracie asked her dad.
Imagining living without the people I love makes me feel so sad,
Her dad responded.
Missing the ones you love has never sat with me right.
This feeling came from lack,
From suffering,
And from fright.
But with your mom,
It was different.
Life was no longer the same.
Every moment I was missing her was a moment well spent because I was thinking of her name.
Gracie was listening full of awe as her dad finished the story of what he told her mom.
There's something about this,
And I know you feel it too.
We're meant to be together,
And we both know that is true.
We're expanding,
Surrendering once more,
And there's so much we will do.
You give a different meaning to the words,
I love you.
And from this moment forth,
Gracie asked,
You two decided to be together just like that?
There were challenges on the way,
And many choices to be made.
There were even moments where I felt like I could no longer wait.
But love knows no time.
Everything is perfect,
And knowing this is fine.
Knowing that my true love was somewhere on this earth at the same time as I,
Is all I needed to know,
And so the time ticked by.
In every moment,
We have a choice,
Gracie.
Will we follow the heart and exert our joy,
Or will we listen to the mind and act lazy?
Acting upon the heart is difficult,
And you need to be strong,
But I've always believed it's worth it.
A choice from the heart is never wrong.
Deep down,
Gracie understood what her dad was telling her.
She knew it was true because of the shivers he felt on her fur.
She smiled,
But she had trouble keeping her eyes open.
It was getting late,
And tomorrow is a day she put much hope in.
It's time to go to sleep now,
Honey.
I'm sure you'll dream about your true love,
My sweet Gracie Bunny.
Gracie looked up at her dad and gave him one last kiss on his cheek before she finally closed her eyes and fell into a deep,
Deep sleep.
