So,

Sleep.

It's always an interesting subject,

Isn't it?

Maybe you've tried a lot of things already to get your sleep.

I'll suggest a few here.

I hope you can make use of some of them.

So a good idea is to be thoughtful of what you do the last hour before going to bed,

Because even though you can dim the blue light in a lot of screens nowadays,

You can still be fed with things that will actually generate thoughts in you,

Emotions that make you not get your sleep when you go to bed.

So doing something else before going to bed would be a really good idea.

Otherwise,

You might end up like this guy.

He just wanted to check his emails and the texts before going to sleep,

Because then they wouldn't be waiting for him in the morning.

But now the phone is hot and it's vibrating,

Almost leaving the table with the vibration,

And everything he just read and saw is entering his mind,

Creating all these thoughts and emotions,

And he's not getting any sleep right now.

So it could be a really good idea to do something else the last hour,

And that could be reading a book,

A plain old ordinary book,

Because when you read that,

You can go to bed early and then you can just lie there reading.

Maybe not a thriller that excites you too much or makes you not being able to put it down,

But most of us become a bit tired once we've been reading for a while.

So if you lie there on your side and you can be prepared to close the book and turn off the lights when you get so tired that you're almost asleep,

And then you do it,

Then you will fall asleep most of the time.

So that's one suggestion.

Before going to bed,

You can also,

Instead of seeing things,

You could listen to an audiobook.

You could listen to a podcast,

Maybe not one that has too serious subjects in it.

You could go for a walk in the neighborhood.

Evening walks can be amazing.

You could clean up a bit because you would love it when you get up in the something like that.

So what you do the last hour before you go to bed will really help you improve how you fall asleep.

And then there's another thing,

And I really like this bit.

So I had a client once and he had sleeping issues and he actually confided in me.

It was a young man and he told me that he had started using a method that I also recommend,

But I hadn't told him.

So he had put on his,

This is amazing,

He had put on his favorite Disney movie and he had just turned away the screen and almost closed the computer and he was just lying there listening to the sounds.

Because his favorite Disney movie,

He knew all the songs and all the dialogues,

So he could visualize what they were actually doing.

And that's how he fell asleep and he was a bit ashamed of telling me.

And I loved it,

I absolutely loved it.

And I asked him,

Can I please share this with other people because so many people could benefit from this.

So I was allowed to do it and now you've got it too.

So an audiobook,

If you're not into Disney movies or something like that,

Then put on audiobook and fall asleep to that because that voice will calm you down as well.

And don't be afraid to miss out on important things because you'll just rewind the day after.

So catch up what you missed because you were sleeping.

The good thing about this is that if you're a bit stressed then you might wake up,

A lot of people with stress they wake up even though they have fallen asleep and actually wake up quite abruptly.

So if you're in that situation it can also help you tremendously because that's when you have that voice still there talking and you can just lean in to the story.

It doesn't matter if you missed a bit,

You'll just catch up on it the day after.

So that's also a piece of advice for you.
