In this practice, we will work on forgiving ourselves for the hurt we have caused others. We will envision the person we hurt accepting our apology and moving on. This guided meditation is facilitated by journaling or writing a letter, prior to beginning the practice. Allow yourself to speak the words or convey the feelings you wish to be received. Together, we will work on cutting the cord that binds you to this person and lifting the weight that it carried.

Hello my friend.

For this meditation,

You will seek forgiveness from someone we hurt.

To start,

Maybe you'd like to pause this recording and do some journaling or write a letter to this person,

Asking yourself,

What would you say if you could speak to them?

How would you ask for forgiveness?

How would you mend the hurt you caused?

What feelings would you like to convey to this person?

When you've taken some time to ponder the answers to these questions,

When you're ready to begin,

Find yourself a comfortable seat.

Gently roll your shoulders back and down.

Take a deep breath through your nose and out through your mouth.

Breathe in.

Breathe out.

Breathe in.

Breathe out.

With each breath,

You will begin to relax more and more.

Breathe in.

Breathe out.

Continue to focus on the cycle of breath.

Breathing in through your nose and out through your mouth.

Allow your thoughts to be still.

Feel a sense of calm radiate through you as you prepare for deeper healing.

When you're ready,

Invite the person who you hurt into your meditation.

See them in your mind's eye.

See them standing before you.

Allow yourself to feel any feelings of regret,

Shame,

Or sadness.

Be present with your feelings as you breathe.

Breathe in.

Breathe out.

Imagine they are hearing or reading your word and accepting your apology.

Breathe into the feelings that arise from seeing this person standing before you and breathe it out.

Breathe in the feeling and release it.

See the thick cord between you both.

See where is the cord attached.

Find it at your chest,

Your throat,

Or your stomach,

Trusting whatever image comes to your mind.

See this dark cord clearly and prepare for it to be cut.

Prepare to detach yourself from the negativity and the imbalance.

You are ready to be released.

In your mind's eye,

With your dominant hand,

Hold a bright,

Sharply pointed crystal wand.

This wand represents your desire to be free and your commitment to peace.

When you're ready,

Raise the wand and cut the cord with it.

The person you seek forgiveness from is also holding a crystal wand and moves it through the cord effortlessly.

You watch the cord fall to the ground and dissolve.

Take a deep breath in and exhale.

Let out a sigh of relief.

The cord is now dissolved into the ground.

As it disappears,

All remnants of the energy,

The weight,

Is lifting off of you.

Notice the person standing before you has changed.

You see them in their innocence.

You see them in their light.

Feel their forgiveness release you.

Breathe in and breathe out.

Breathe in,

Breathe out.

Continue breathing in this way,

Filling yourself up with lightness,

Peace,

Acceptance,

Forgiveness.

And exhale,

Release any feelings that do not serve you.

Any judgments,

Any negativity,

Let it go.

You're breathing in,

Enjoying this peaceful state,

Knowing you can come back here anytime you need.

As you inhale,

Acknowledging the hard work that you did today.

And as you exhale,

Letting go of any judgments,

Any remaining feelings of unease.

See yourself filling up on your inhales with lightness,

Love,

And serenity.

And exhaling out any tension,

Any discomfort.

Ready to let go of this meditation.

Begin to find some movement in your body,

Wiggling your fingers and toes,

Fluttering your eyes open.

The light in me sees the light in you,

My friend.

I'm so proud of you for doing this hard work.

Namaste.
