Libra Living Liberations are weekly video entries by Meghan Toups, where she shares her own personal insights and stories, struggles and triumphs related to her own health and wellness journey. Sometimes they may include excitement and joy, and other times tears and sadness. They will be raw and real “liberations.” The hope is that through these videos, others can be encouraged to share their stories as well, the bad and the good, as a way to heal. Hi everyone,

Megan here from Libra Living Wellness Limited for the 24th video of Libra Living Liberations.

And today I want to talk about mindful words.

Um.

.

.

A lot of times we say things.

Automatically.

Just as with our thoughts,

We think things automatically.

Butts.

A lot of times we say things in a negative way.

Um,

Or sometimes we say things and then we kind of forget.

Start to feel not so good.

This could be stuff that we maybe tell ourselves,

Maybe we say about other people,

Or maybe it's something as simple like,

Oh,

I hate dishes.

There's so many dishes to do.

Kind of like complaining,

But,

You know,

Saying something in a negative way.

Ends.

It's hard to be aware.

Of the words we say because things just kind of pop out,

Things we just say automatically because we're used to saying those things.

But.

.

.

What I want to say today is for everyone,

Including myself,

Is to start paying attention to the words that you're saying,

Especially if they're negative.

And learn to catch them so that you can change them to something positive.

And I always use the example of cleaning dishes because I hate them and they're like,

It's a never ending cycle.

They're always there.

I look and I'm like,

I just washed dishes and it's like overflowing again.

So I find I always have like a negativity.

Associated or negative feeling associated with doing dishes.

And.

.

.

I should say,

You know,

I and sometimes.

I catch myself,

But because it's so automatic.

I usually don't,

And then I feel kind of crappy.

But instead I could,

If I learned to catch myself when I'm saying something negative,

I can change it to something more positive or something that.

.

.

Fills me with more excitement versus making me feel bored.

Because when I say,

Oh,

I hate doing dishes.

There's so many,

I don't feel good inside,

But if I say,

I love having a clean kitchen and I love having clean dishes,

I love the smell of the soap,

You know,

Just focusing on the positives about it.

I feel so much better in my body.

And that's just simply changing the words that I use.

So that's what I encourage,

You know,

Everyone today is start paying attention to those words,

Especially when they're negative,

Especially the way those words make you feel.

And then change them to something that makes you feel better,

That's more positive.

Now,

Of course,

This is hard to do when you've been constantly saying negative things about something.

It's going to take some time to kind of build that awareness.

To catch what you're saying.

But again,

Pay attention to how it feels.

Change it to something positive and notice how much better it feels.

When you're saying something.

More positively versus negatively.

So.

.

.

I wish everyone a great day.

Become aware of the words you use.

And choose something more positive.

Until next time.
