As we begin,
I invite you to take a moment to tune into your breath as you gently close your eyes.
Just notice it as it is right in this moment.
You might notice if it's fast or slow,
Deep or shallow.
Just take a moment to truly appreciate this breath.
You see,
Appreciation has a higher vibration than gratitude.
And as we are grateful for many things,
It takes us one step further in a positive direction to truly appreciate things in our life.
So I invite you to take a few moments to express your appreciation for your breath and for all it gives you.
Breathing in and breathing out,
You might next notice that you have many things in your life for which you can express appreciation.
And as your breath continues to breathe itself without you forcing it or thinking about it,
I wonder if you would like to express your appreciation for the ground beneath your cushion.
You might even say,
Mother Earth,
I appreciate you or gravity,
I appreciate you.
Still breathing and centering in this space,
Perhaps you'd like to choose one thing in your life for which you have appreciation.
Maybe this is your job or a family member.
It might be your house,
The food on your plate,
Or even just the earth itself.
And I wonder as you consider this thing for which you are appreciative,
If you would like to imagine appreciation as a particular color.
What color is it to you today?
Is it green or blue?
Maybe it's purple,
Red,
Gold or white.
Whatever color appreciation might be to you today,
I wonder what it might be like to imagine sending this color,
This energy,
This appreciation,
This gratitude out to a thing or a person for which you are grateful.
One you'd like to send a little appreciation to today.
Taking a deep breath,
Remaining in this space,
I wonder what appreciation feels like to you today.
Maybe it's warm or soft.
It may just fill you up with a sense of happiness,
A sense of fullness.
And now I wonder what it might be like to send that feeling to the object or person of your appreciation today.
Can you imagine what that might feel like to receive the feeling of appreciation?
And as you take a few more breaths for yourself,
I encourage you to give yourself a little bit of appreciation.
Notice parts of your body that you appreciate,
Perhaps talents or your health.
Just take a few moments to give yourself a little bit of self-love.
When you're ready or when the music comes to an end,
You can gently open your eyes and end your meditation.
