Hello and welcome to this practice of yoga nidra.
My name is Marie Maribel and I am grateful to be guiding you today.
If you are new to this practice,
Welcome.
Please make yourself as comfortable as possible.
If you are practicing somewhere that you have access to pillows or blankets,
Socks,
Anything that makes you comfortable,
Go ahead and have them nearby.
And then gradually we begin to create a little nest or a little haven for ourselves where we can rest fully.
If you want to put on socks,
If you'd like to have pillows under your knees,
Under your spine,
Anything at all.
One could place an eye pillow over the eyes or a long sleeve shirt,
Just the sleeve of the shirt could cover the eyes.
Anything that invites us to fully rest and delve more deeply into our own experience of this present moment of restful awareness.
As we are making our way into a restful space,
Please begin to notice and pay attention to the breath.
We're not imposing any pattern or idea,
Just becoming fully aware of the breath,
The inhalation and the exhalation.
Start delving a little bit more deeply from the observer awareness into the feeling space where you can feel your breath moving through your body.
Notice and acknowledge how the body fills up with air and exhale.
