Let us pray together through this Psalm of David,
Psalm 27.
Sitting comfortably yet attentive with eyes closed,
Let us enter into the still presence of God within and around you.
I will read through the Psalm,
Pausing between the verses,
Allowing you to reflect silently or repeat the words out loud,
Allowing the Spirit of the living God to cause these words to bring life within you,
To form within you,
To speak deeply into your life.
Let us begin.
Come Holy Spirit,
I open myself up to you to receive these words written by you through David.
May these words resonate deeper within me.
If God is for me,
Who then can be against me?
The Lord is my light.
The Lord is my salvation.
My Savior.
My Defender.
My Liberator.
Who then should I fear?
Should the wicked draw near to me?
It is they who will stumble and fall.
Though I be outnumbered and though deceivers come against me,
I will not fear.
I shall remain confident in you,
My Lord.
This I ask of you,
My Lord,
My Savior.
This I long for,
To see your beauty always before me and that I may dwell ever so close to you,
That I may dwell in your holy presence all the days of my life.
And when I face trouble,
Shelter me in your sacred dwelling and set me high upon a rock.
I lift my face to you with praise and shouts of joy.
Hear me,
O Lord,
And graciously answer me.
For your face do I seek.
Teach me your way.
Lead me on a straight path so that I may remain firm in faith and confident that I will see your goodness in the land of the living.
My heart be courageous and strong as I wait on the Lord.
Let it be so.
Let it be now.
Amen.
