Welcome to this meditation to help ease your pain.
Physical pain can be very hard to handle and many times we create a mental image of our suffering.
This aggravates our pain even more,
Sometimes increasing it.
And then when we feel the sensations,
We have negative thoughts attached to it.
So this meditation will teach you techniques to change the mental image that you have created from your pain.
So please find yourself very comfortable and relaxed.
You want to not be disturbed,
So make sure you have put away all distractions.
Preferably sitting with your back straight,
Close your eyes.
Take in a few deep breaths on your own,
Letting them be comfortable and natural deep breaths.
Give yourself three more deep breaths as you count along with them.
One.
Two.
Three.
Now just let your breath become natural.
Allow for your shoulders to drop down a little more.
If your jaw wants to loosen,
Let it do so.
Good.
You may notice areas in your body that you associate with the word pain.
Bring them into your awareness.
Allow the feelings to multiply because you are completely safe and secure.
It's okay to allow your sensations to rise.
They will not harm you.
Place all of your focus on these areas,
Like a scientist studying their subject.
Is it tingling or burning?
Maybe a stinging?
Or perhaps a tension?
Tightness?
What does your pain really look like?
Describe it in every detail.
Don't do anything about it,
Except observe it.
Make notes about how you feel.
Allow your sensations to grow and don't stop them.
Just see what they do.
Notice the details of the changes in your sensations.
Are the feelings in your body moving to other areas?
Follow them there.
Good.
Now within your creative mind,
Take yourself to somewhere you like to go,
Like the beach or the mountains,
Maybe even your own backyard.
Imagine yourself walking there.
It is a beautiful day.
The temperature is just the way you like it.
Notice around you any nature.
What time of year is it in your mind's eye?
Enjoy the weather.
Can you see the blue sky?
Just look around this favorite place of yours.
If you are at the beach,
You can hear the waves crashing on the shore.
You can hear your familiar footsteps pacing along.
As you look around,
Do you notice any patterns?
Try to notice the arrangements of the things around you.
You can see the template of the universe.
It was created for us to enjoy.
And in this beautiful,
Safe space that you spend in your mind,
It is making a valuable impression on your physical wellbeing.
You notice that perhaps the pain you have labeled before has changed quite greatly.
Knowing that you are safe and that you can experience sensations in the body,
Bring yourself back to any areas that you were experiencing sensations of discomfort before.
Are they any different in any way?
Recalling that in your mind's eye,
You are spending time in your favorite place,
Out in nature by the waves.
The air is blowing by,
Deeply relaxing you.
The power of our mind is an incredible thing.
Notice how what you think becomes what you feel.
And then what you feel becomes your reality.
This very moment is making a great impact on your entire future.
With this beautiful moment,
I'd like for you to imagine what your life would look like if you experienced no pain.
A life where pain has no place.
What would you be doing if your body felt amazing on a daily basis?
Notice how you become more active within your mind,
Moving around,
Going places,
Seeing things.
Your body feels good,
Just as it's created to.
As we bring this meditation to a close,
You know your plan.
It is easy to follow the path towards good health.
Remember that when you feel trapped in any sensations of discomfort,
Take your imagination into that mental place of peace.
And then bring that peace back into the present moment.
Take a few deep breaths on your own.
Notice the peace within your cells.
You may open your eyes whenever you feel ready to.
