Find a comfortable standing position and as you feel ready just start to move your body naturally.
Now,
Where did that first movement initiate from?
Where do your movements initiate from?
If you can pinpoint it,
Put all your attention in this one spot.
So if it's your hips,
Start moving only in your hips.
Isolate them so only your hips are moving and make the movements as dramatic and bold as you can.
Now as you ignite the movements from your hips,
Let the rest of the body follow.
Let the rest of your body be influenced by the movements starting in your hips.
Then as if you're passing the ball to someone new,
Put all the focus into a new body part.
Maybe it's your shoulders,
Maybe it's your knees,
Your feet.
Once you decide,
Let all of your movements come from this one body part and let the rest of your body follow.
Find new shapes.
You can go higher,
Lower,
Go forward,
Back,
Diagonals,
Side to side.
Now change it again.
Maybe it's something more wacky or unique like the back of your knee or the nape of your neck,
A cheekbone,
A fingernail.
Start to explore.
Now choose one that is feeling good for you and on a scale from one to ten,
Ten being the most dramatic,
One being the most subtle,
Let all of the movements from this one body part be at a ten.
Make it as dramatic and big as possible.
Use all of the space around you.
Now try it at a one.
What does that feel like?
Establish the ten,
Establish the one.
How specific can you get?
Now bring it back to a ten,
Back to a one.
How about trying at a five,
Right in the middle,
Establish a middle ground.
How about a two,
Back up to a seven,
And repeat.
Great.
And when you're done,
Just come back and bring all that energy to a one.
Wherever this is,
And just live here in this sensation,
Be specific,
Feel the subtleties.
Can you sustain that energy?
Explore the contrast and let it go.
