Welcome to this meditation about letting go.

Begin by settling into a comfortable seated or lying down position.

Close your eyes gently and take a deep breath in,

Filling your lungs completely,

Your belly and then slowly release it.

With each breath feel your body soften and relax.

Allow any tension to melt away.

Now bring to mind something you are ready to release.

It may be a thought,

A habit,

An expectation or even a feeling you've been holding on to.

Whatever it is,

Notice how it feels to hold on to this.

How it feels in your body.

How it feels in your mind.

How it feels in your heart.

And as you keep breathing in and out,

You are able to start letting it go.

Imagine this thing as a weight you've been carrying.

Notice its shape,

Its size,

Its color.

How it feels in your hands,

In your chest,

In your legs,

In your neck,

In your heart.

And as you continue to breathe deeply,

Begin to see a soft light surrounding it.

Gentle but powerful.

This light grows brighter with each breath,

Loosening the hold this weight has on you.

With each exhale,

Feel this weight becoming lighter and lighter,

Softening,

Releasing.

You are freeing it from yourself.

Allow it to lift,

To drift away like a cloud,

Disappearing into the vast sky above.

With each breath,

Feel yourself growing lighter and clearer,

Like you've created more space within.

When you feel ready,

Place one hand over your heart,

Feeling the warmth and openness of this new space you've created.

Know that by letting go,

You are making room for what truly serves you.

Take one more deep breath,

Feeling yourself with peace and clarity.

And as you exhale,

Let a soft smile form.

When you're ready,

Gently open your eyes.

Carry this lightness with you throughout your day.
